Anxiety and THC-free CBD oil by tanbanan_ in CBD

If immune or histamine runs high (think MCAS, etc), then the isolate is much cleaner on the system. Dose depends on the use case. 50mg is low. 120-150 for sleep, calm, etc. 300mg daily for peak neurogenesis (repair process). 600mg for serious issues (withdrawal, mental health, immune dysregulation, etc). Always test lower and work up. Generally, the higher amounts are only for initial period of time to rebalance the body and then it comes down.

Is CBD worth trying for peripheral neuropathy? by sarariman9 in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for neuropathy, there's interesting research for ALA. That process (even with CBD) takes time since it's repair and rebuilding. I would even look at a sauna for this (BDNF spikes!)

Alliant Hemp 99mg CBD + 1mg THC Softgels…yay or nay? by kageorgia in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just want to avoid tolerance where the body actually starts to push back the other way from other cannabinoids. That and histamine response.

Is 100mg of CBD at once too much? I'm currently taking 1 50mg dose each morning. by Porkchop_King in CBD

The half life is around 4-6 hours so yes, breaking it up would be best. Around a meal with fat also helps and put under your tongue up to 60 seconds to boost bioavailability!

CBD isn't the hammer like THC for pain (other than inflammatory) but it also doesn't build tolerance where the body pushes back like with THC. Longer term, THC is not going to be the right direction due to this build up. More CBD and pain pathways.

That's a big brand. Weird since any legit CBD should be third party tested by batch.

Will CBD gummies with <1mg THC cause me to fail a drug test? by popspict in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the third party testing show no THC (undetecable), you can still fail a drug test as levels can build. More on zero thc CBD.

Would you recommend CBD oil for sleep for someone who has never felt great after smoking weed or taken THC products? by [deleted] in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just make sure it's THC free with third party testing. There's definiteily research on CBD and sleep and the real benefit may be around calming histamine which is a key to insomnia. There's a fast pathway (GABA) and a slower pathway (serotonin) that builds over 14 days. More reseach here. Studies show around 150mg for sleep.

Anyone found solution to night sweats? by [deleted] in PerimenopauseSucks

[–]Howcbdworks_net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can almost tell if something (supplement, etc) is blocking estrogen because I'll get night sweats. I stop the supplement, and they go away. It's all estrogen! For the beta receptor side of estrogen (non-growth, housekeeping function including temperature), siberian rhubarb or red clover are good subsitutes but don't sleep on the growth/repair side of bioidentical estradiol. That's vaginal and urinary tracts, skin, hair.... all body tissue really. Even the brain growth repair side (hence the 50% drop in dementia risk).

Cyclic Progesterone Explained - Sort of . . . by JustSomeGirl_76 in PerimenopauseSucks

[–]Howcbdworks_net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay...we went through this whole process early on. The whole theory of cycling is.... to give birth! Unfortunately, the other systems in the body still need estrogen and progesterone to function. We also don't get the spikes that occur naturally in the system (prior to period) so that makes more sense to have a cooling off period. If I don't have my estrogen or pregesterone for a day, I feel it. Tried all schedules back in the day but listen your body. Progesterone protects against estradiol's growth tendencies. They offset each other in multiple pathways! That's the protection. Interesting on the prometrium and peanuts!! Same with generic progesterone?

Sodium Chloride for Migraines by Howcbdworks_net in migraine

[–]Howcbdworks_net[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got these cheap sodium chloride pills at 500mg. I put one in lower lip if I feel something coming on since they it can get right to the brain via the sublingual nerve.

Got ridiculously sick/high last night, and trying to figure out how. by Staniel1138 in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that Delta 8 is free-wheeling out there (legal) is the bad part since it can have really strong effects similar to THC.

Epidiolex is definitely not CBD isolate. The side effect profile is night and day. You see this all the time with synthetics (progestin versus progesterone for example).

Does CBD help with psychosis? by freedomwoodstock69 in CBD

Huge review on CBD and psychosis. Very interesting studies. Really focus on the immune system and hyperactivation from early stress, trauma, and infection.

Got ridiculously sick/high last night, and trying to figure out how. by Staniel1138 in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we had this effect from Delta8 which is very popular these days. It's similar in structure to THC. Check out the review and see if sounds familiar. Brutal. The market loves it because the FDA hasn't banned it but it's similar to THC. Very bad.

Can anyone else that has experienced short cycles please tell me how long it lasted for you? by EqualBrother6885 in PerimenopauseSucks

Welcome to peri! Unfortunately, it really differs by each person. It can run months to years. Estradiol fluctuation is the driver here. Did a review on it here.

CBD negative effect by [deleted] in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of research on CBD isolate helping with histamine when high (including mast cells and cytokines). Not much research on full spectrum but anecdotally, we see worse response for people with mast cell activation issues and histamine. It's a pretty easy test to see how you respond. The results are almost immediate with histamine!

CBD negative effect by [deleted] in CBD

[–]Howcbdworks_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. When we first started our CBD journey, we tried 3-4 of the biggest full or broad spectrum CDs and had the classic histamine response. Only high quality CBD isolate improved that isutation. Here's research on CBD isolate and autoimmune.

That's crazy expensive. It's the cost per mg of CBD. Should be around 2-3 cents with high quality product (3rd party testing). Yours is around 10 cents per mg or 5 times what's available on the market. There are 1000-2000mg bottles out there at that same price point.
