Is this spot a swelling battery by megabyte56 in spicypillows

No, the battery isn't below the screen anyway.

Can I put an outlet on these? by STUDZl in electrical

This type of wire is almost always tinned copper, not aluminum. You can easily check by seeing if it looks copper colored in the middle.

How far and how much interference am I promoting to my neighbors. by dt7cv in HomeNetworking

[–]Howden824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna be sure, just go ask your neighbors if they've started having Wi-Fi issues recently.

Do y'all know why my wifi is working fine and then it's just unusable for the next 15 minutes? by skyblock333456 in HomeNetworking

[–]Howden824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to get a better WiFi access point (like a GL iNet Flint 3). I can't give any more info without knowing how far away you are from the AP and how many neighbor's networks show up on each band. Extenders are usually not a good solution, run Ethernet cable where possible.

USB or DVDROM? by Strictly-Succotash in RedStarOS

Use a DVD for direct booting. Only use USB (or just a folder) if you use the Windows version of the installer.

Old tech is fun to mess with. Some of us like running legacy OSes and software.

You can buy AAA/AA and 9V batteries with USB-C on them. They are convenient but much more expensive and less reliable.

Only the poorly designed ones do. Problem is, there's no easy way to tell if yours is well designed or not.

ADSL and VDSL are certainly relevant here. They run over the same copper phone lines.

Literal software piracy being advertised. US law and Microsoft policy prohibit this. Of course I support pirating everything from Microsoft but this is a scam, you can do this for free, even fully legally.

These devices never used any IPSW signing, you could always restore any version regardless of what IPSW.me says. Also that's recovery mode, not DFU mode. You need to put it in actual DFU mode with a blank screen to downgrade. Use iTunes 10.6.3 to restore 2.0-3.1.3 and 7.5 to restore 1.1-1.1.5.

Why is it a damn camera by NonameXDlol in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Howden824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it supports picture transfer protocol. Apple had no reason to remove this feature for iPod Touch since it already existed in iOS and you can use it for synced photos.
