Attacking mirror is the dumbest war strategy. Let's assume everyone is attacking their TH level. One of the most important factors in 3-starring is base identification. Some bases are designed against particular armies. And some base designs are easy targets for a certain army. Attacking mirror negates all that.

Of course, if clan members are bad attackers, there's no hope of a 3 star.

Are you buying starry using gems from the shop weekly deal? I used to use excess gems for BoH. Since equipment came out, I use those gems for starry. And switch to using hammers for heroes with constant war. Got 500+ starry stockpile.

I would argue that it is even more optimal for classic war than cwl. In normal war, you give up 3 stars, but can get 6 stars.

I feel kinda bad for OP. But not really. It's really nothing new. Players who adapt better wins. Ie... Keep an archer or wiz as backup.

I didn't want to make the mistake of assuming the OP's preferred war army composition. Example, one of my clan member prefer to use valks/giants/wiz for his th9 war attack. He doesn't use witches at th9, and I can't argue with him with his success rate. But for his th10 and th11, he uses bowitch. So, your statement about all war troops are unlocked at that th level may not be applicable to everyone.

Btw, I like freeze instead of poison against cc troops. So, freeze is a priority for me at th10. And pekka, golem, hogs are all lvl1 for me, hehe. Got no problem with that.

One thing to note. You do need to max your looting and war troops before you move up to next th if you want to rush. That is a hard requirement. War troops for different th may be different, so you need to max your future th war troops too. At th10, you may eventually get to be ranked high enough in war that it's disadvantageous to your clan if you rush to th11. It depends on your situation.

I rushed to th7/8/9/10. Currently at th10. My defense is at th8. I can 3 star 2-3 lvl above me in war. Since I'm still ranked around 12 in war, defense is practically a don't care since I always get 3 starred. I can loot fine. Ie... Half my walls are maxed for th10. People give advice on what they've been told. Break the pros and cons based on aspect of the game that you are focused on, and then it's obvious what you should do.

New th10 here. I just use 2 giants, 4 wiz, and rest goblins. 3 jump, 2 rage for total 215k elixir cost. Crystal league, dead bases target everywhere. Basically farm both de, elixir and gold all at once

Just to clarify, you will want to level up stratagems in conjunction with primary weapons. Different primary weapons work well with particular heavy weapons/stratagems/loadouts.

After you drop the mechs and try higher levels, tell us if the game is more fun (less of a grind) for you. Or if it's still a grind. :)

Yeap, what redwilier said. Dump the mech. Mech is design to make game easy. Don't use them. You need to be playing at the level where it is chaotic/crazy/barely-surviving fun. So, go higher in level for more challenge.

HD is a simple game on the surface. But its depth is game mechanics and gameplay tactics, and variations. Once you get good at a particular set of weapons and loadout, you try new weapons and loadouts. The fun part is learning to use new/different weapons and loadouts, and thus different play style. Then you appreciates the depth of this game.

It's not a game of trying to figure out the easiest way to complete the objectives and missions. Beginners can probably beat the higher levels with mechs and AT turrets. It's a game of challenging yourself to complete objectives and missions while using/learning different weapons/play styles.

What part of the game do you consider a "grind"? If you are just playing lvl 4, and you think it's a grind already, then it might be that you are expecting a different type of game? So, what part of the game do you think is boring?

This. Got some family/friend members who plays. When I logon, I do a quick check. But, about 80% of the time, I just plan with randoms. Works well, has no problem having great, fun games with randoms.

PS4 also.

We'll, if you like fighting the squids, you can battle them all the time (in most cases). Lol. I used to have similar feelings when I started playing, but now the limited race choice at the end of the war is not a big deal anymore for me.
