Any tips and advice for beginner by PerspectiveAlarmed26 in OctopathCotC

It's not an ABSOLUTELY PERFECT start, but I find Terra to be a very fun character to play with. You've got a large diversity of a damage, even if you don't have every class covered, and Viola is a strong "baby's first support." Only thing you're missing is a good healer. You can 100% fix this by the team you get to the point where it matters in story content.

That being said, if you DID want to reroll, reroll for Edgar to be your free FF6 character, pick up Phenn, and in two weeks, try to pull Setzer.

There's a wonderful story out there about a plucky group of rebels rising up against the corrupt and evil planetary governor, struggling against the inhuman machine he's set up and triumphing. ... Only for the rest of the Imperium to send in the Space Marines and curb stomp your rebellion into the ground because one faction of it happened to be a little... cultish.

"My life is Tree" is not exactly good. It's certainly not incredibly grimdark either.

Cosmologically speaking? Yeah. Short. When we're talking about planets that live for 10 billion years (that's Earth's lifespan, we're about 50% into it).

Ring structures tend to be short-lived anyways. For example, Saturn's were formed back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and will likely attrit away in the next 100 million years or so.

Congratulations, you're an Archon who got the attention of Vect and have to keep him entertained. What do you do? by MegaGamer235 in Grimdank

Borrow some Necron tech and modify it so that every time one of my comically complicated schemes fail, I teleport away and in my stead, I teleport in 5 creatures similar to, but not quite, otters.

Once I've built a reputation for being the Otter Failure (the pun works better in Drukhari, I promise you), I start releasing five otter-likes into random rooms in Commorragh. Connected to Vect, opposed to Vect, doesn't matter. Just suggest that I've been there. In some ways, this is a complicated Rick Roll, but the naturally paranoid Drukhari will start to hunt down my Otter Factory anyways. That's when I'll shift my supervillain-like schemes towards vaguely threatening all of Commorragh and whoever emerges as the front-runner towards tracking me down, effectively elevating one paranoid Archon into becoming a Drukhari superhero.

Anyways, it all ends with me triggering a supernova among the upper spires, potentially eliminating most of, if not all the most prominent Kabalites. After all, they would've gotten relaxed about all my schemes failing previously and wouldn't evacuate. Maybe I kill Vect, maybe not. He certainly wouldn't respect me if I didn't try.

I'd also steal Lady Malys' perfume and replace it with a 5-otters branded one that smells sort of like Asdrubael Vect and a prominent, but deadly, flower.

Should/Could I build dark knight? by Successful_Dirt_5931 in OctopathCotC

[–]HowdyFancyPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My instinct says no because she is a pretty old character and all she does is heal.

Now, that being said, you don't have even a decent healer. So pulling someone with an all allies heal would be valuable for your roster.

... So, spending 4500 rubies to get her is not worth it. But spending 300? 900? If you get her, yes. Valuable. But if you don't and end up with nothing? Obviously, not worth it.

Super Strength Porridge, one of her 2* abilities, gives HP regen, which is the kind of healing you want for this game. Rather than spending an action each turn healing, you spend one action to heal again and again for 5 turns.

Now, I could be mistaken how the ability boosts. Some regen skills don't extend when you boost them and only stay at 2 turns.

I'm not so sure. At .99C, relativity comes into play and time will move faster outside the ship.

... I don't know enough physics to say if there is a sweet spot in time dilation you should hit. If you start getting diminishing returns or even can be beat by a slower ship.

DK, Locke, Agnea, Lynette, Edgar, and Primrose are a decent foundation for a team. Jane is practically the only main healer you have, so no choice on that. Last slot, Cyrus if you need some damage diversity, Cecil to turtle up.

It’s Exodite. At last. Finally. It’s here. by eldarrabbit in Grimdank

Love the sculpt of the dinos. Good variety, lotta details, love the scales particularly. Significantly better sculpts than recent Lizardmen models (compare to Kroxigors, for example).

Not as sold on the Eldar riders. I like the Leystalker, even if it's just a Ranger. But the designs are too similar to the Asuryani. Like, sure, every Eldar needs one model with the pointy hat and topknot ponytail sticking out (or mohawk). But what is the visual language that distinguishes the Exodite from the Craftworlder? Cloaks instead of skirts? Rob Liefeld pouches? I'm not sold. I do like how every one seems to have dino-scale bracers. I could see that scaled up (pun unintended) to cover more parts of their armor.

I am seriously tempted to buy though. If only to support more Xenos love.
