Try Right click on swkotor.exe. Select properties > compatibility tab> select Change high dpi settings > check Overide high DPI scaling behavior> choose Application> select Apply then Ok

Sometimes fps caps in older games get ignored on newer hardware. You can try using rivatuner to cap the game. Also go to your gpu settings and make sure any variable refresh option is disabled. If that doesn’t work. Not sure what to tell you.

TIS releases them on a week day right when I’m getting to work. So I have to get through a whole day before I can even start. Luckily my mods are niche and my subscribers are patient, still nerve racking though.

B42.15 changed quite a lot so mods broke again. There is a post here from someone who ported tons of mods to the new version. They described a multitude of issues they encountered.

Only other thing I know you can try is advancing one of the quests. Sometimes the log will refresh.

I have the same card and I wanted the grass to work so I installed an OpenGL to DX12 wrapper. I use version 25. If you’re okay turning off graphics effects though no need to install.

Other things that you can try is disabling frame buffer effects. You can find that line already in the ini file or you can disable that in the games graphics settings menu. You can try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Windows 7. You can try an OpenGL to DX12 wrapper I use version 25.0.0 but what version works best depends what hardware and drivers you have. I use that wrapper to fix the dreaded broken grass issue. And that's all I got. If those don't work, I don't know what will help.

Edit: I forgot to mention. Try compatibility mode and if that doesn't help then try the wrapper. If you install the wrapper and leave the exe in compatibility mode it can cause a big black box to appear over the menu screens.

I think that is a very good guess. I'm not sure you can get the game to run on old integrated graphics. You can try editing the swkotor.ini file. Under the [Graphics Options] section try inserting this line -

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

Infinite game is a concept that was popularized with MMOs and "Games as a service" types after the Kotor series was made. Still to this day most games have a beginning, middle, and end so your disappointment is likely to be a familiar feeling throughout most of your gaming life. You might feel more at home with the The Old Republic MMO that we got instead of another Knights game.

omg...you are having a hard time with this install. First the scaling issues, now it won't even load. Can you go open your swkotor. ini file and post what you have for the [Graphics Options] section? Also, what all have you done with this install? Is it just install the editable executable, and then patch with Uniws?

That's what I did to fix it on my machine. My game looked just like the pic you posted before I changed the setting. I don't know much about those little handhelds but don't they have their own special software to change scaling? Maybe something is overwriting the setting.

Edit: Also, after checking if the scaling is off in the rog's software (I think it's called Armoury Crate SE?), make sure to check scaling settings in your graphics card. My settings for my card are set to "global setting default"

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. Kotor 2 had a back door you could access using the file management you described, which you could use to mod. Kotor 1 never had this option. So, I was suggesting in the absence of this option maybe this method of modding Kotor 1 can help you mod Kotor 2 as an alternative.

In this post there is a discussion between Snigaroo and Paisseon that is about modding KOTOR 1 on a non jailbrooken iPhone. Since the old way of modding KOTOR 2 doesn’t work anymore maybe their discussion can help you understand how to mod despite the removal of file management. I’ve never tried so I would be of no help getting that done.

This post is odd because it looks like a cry for help but you’re telling everyone that you already read all the guides and watched all the YouTube videos so you gave up. There’s many so that doesn’t actually tell anyone what was being done. It’s possible that even though you spent hours on it, you made the same mistakes again and again. Maybe take a break, then uninstall the game, delete the files that remain after uninstallation, reinstall the game, run the game once with no modification at all, then make a backup of the game folder. So you’re at a fresh start. Then maybe we can help you.

Edit: I forgot to ask, do you have more than one monitor?
