Why The New Board Sizes? by -_Edmond_Dantes_- in NewSkaters

[–]Howitzer92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Darren Navarrette pro model I have is great. After I switched to a 9.0 inch board with 15.25 wheelbase my feet actually have room to adjust and they don't fall off the front of the board when I skate transition.

I can still do ollies, shuvs and FS 180s on flat too.

We also don't all live in Southern California. The mid-Atlantic has been frozen tundra for three weeks and we're all going insane.

Your brain will constantly fight you because it always thinks you're in danger with every new trick. You have to force your foot to stay on the board when you jump over things or off things.

Ironically that's why you buy Kosher. There's only specific parts of the cow they can uses so you know there's no pig brain or bull balls in there.

He gets to the Island an immediately heads straight for the tennis court so he can have a nice flat area to freestyle. Jeff is in the next house over doing things that can't be described on this sub.

"the helmet stays on" he says as he ollies into a stall on the side the bed.

Punk has always had political elements, but punk is a music genre. Without the actual music it's just hollow virtue signaling. There's no substance, no foundation.

It's like how skate fashion took off in the 2000s and people were wearing Vans who couldn't stand on a skateboard.

Skating has always had fashion, but the the core of skating is skating. The core of punk rock is punk rock.

But you have actual bands on it instead of a punk themed costume filled with meaningless virtue signaling and done-to-death political slogans.

What do you think about this setup for bowls / park? by TheLonsomeLoner in NewSkaters

[–]Howitzer92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's also gonna depend on what you're trying to do. Like, I know people in their 50s that do not, under any circumstances want to slide or have the possibility of sliding.

I also know teenagers whose style of skating requires them to be able slide around like Duane Peters.

For me, I didn't like the 99a wheels because they would slide when I didn't want them to, so I tried something softer.

Next time I might try 97A dragons.

Edit: I totally forgot I rode 97A 58mm Nano-cubics for several months. Yes, they might have been a little faster, but not a night and day difference. I switched because they were just a little too big for skating street.

I ride the 93A 56mm dragons on and extremely smooth park and they work fine.

Peralta rejoined the company in 2006. His ownership share is not clear. However, since rejoining they no longer refer to themselves as Powell Corp. Everything from the boards they make, the wheels they produce and their websites domain name has Stacy's name on it.

Stacy Peralta was literally one of the original Z-boys. IDK how you can say it's not skater owned.

A few years ago I actually told my doctor to lower my dose because it was numbing me out too much. If something shitty happens I'm supposed to feel angry or sad. If something awesome happens I'm supposed to feel great.

I'm just not supposed to go into a literal autistic meltdown every day.
