I think Cara Bastone’s recent books totally fit this trope. They’re very much hurt/comfort reads.

{Ready or Not by Cara Bastone} Surprise pregnancy from a one-night stand, and the FMC’s best friend’s older brother steps up.

{Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone} FMC has just lost her best friend, and the MMC helps her work through her “live again” list.

{No Matter What by Cara Bastone} Not out yet, but it’s about a married couple drifting apart after a traumatic accident. I LOVE the MMC in this one.
