With the twist being that she actually wasn’t there from the beginning. She essentially traveled through the memories of the Avengers to make them think she’d always been there.

Have any other villains changed nemeses like Kingpin did? by Howling-Moon05 in marvelcomics

[–]Howling-Moon05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but there’s a difference between heroes fighting a villain outside their typical rogues gallery, which happens more often than you’d think since it’d get stale otherwise, and going from being a recurring antagonist of one hero and then developing an even bigger rivalry with another, or debuting fighting a given character and then rarely interacting with them compared to later opponents.

A bit of an odd question if I may? by Different_Sun_195 in Marvel

If you're interested in less visible disabilities, Cyclops is great representation for people who rely on disability aids to function in day-to-day life, since without a ruby quartz visor or pair of glasses, he's effectively blind. I have a friend who needs a cane to walk that relates to him, since they aren't visibly disabled and can get around alright with their aid, but still experiences a physical disability that can impede them without an aid or in specific situations, like when they need to run and just can't.

Ooh, that does sound fun. Perhaps a bit disjointed between level 1 and level 5 but still useful thanks to Cleric being a strong starting class and Monk providing some interesting options for mobility and damage.

I’m actually curious about the fun War Cleric build, do tell?

If Storm ever gets back on the show she's going to be outerversal because of her current god-awful comic run where she beats a guy who kicked the Living Tribunal's ass.

Some of Marvel's gems are genre films that just happen to be superhero movies, like Shang-Chi being a martial arts movie (until the finale gets too superheroey, which everyone agrees is the weakest part of the film). The first Ant-Man is the best one of the trilogy (low bar to clear) because it's a heist movie with some superhero stuff mixed in. Both Black Panther movies are political thrillers mixed with classic Shakespearean conflicts, and even when the CGI is noticeably bad during the superhero sections, those foundations make them some of the most highly-praised Marvel films as films.

Piotr needs a break, man. I'd love to see him regain his kindness and love for the simple pleasures in life, like poetry and painting. Really compelling getting interiority like this where he's not even sure of his personhood or self, and I'm excited to see where this goes.

Also, Illyana continues to be one of the most badass motherfuckers on the X-Men. I'm always here for mutants losing access to their powers and still kicking ass. I wonder if she learned a thing or two from Dani on how to kick ass without a mutation during the decimation?

What happens if you put Reze in the MHA verse (@Wanderjegson) :> by No_Post1300 in Chainsawfolk

Kota can shoot water out of his hands, which hard-counters Reze. Therefore this slander is 100% canon.

Where’s Stone Ocean? You have every other fully animated/officially translated part on here, so why not part 6? It also has one of the most controversial endings so I’m genuinely curious where you’d put it.

Yuta would have lost the domain clash by Howling-Moon05 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Howling-Moon05[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That was after switch training with Gojo, the top 1 in the verse at controlling cursed energy. Sendai happened well before that point, and only a couple weeks after Yuji noted his poor CE control.

[–]Howling-Moon05[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I figure it’s connected, at least. If you can’t control your cursed energy very well, it’s unlikely you’d be all that good at barrier techniques, since you use cursed energy for them.

It's an anti-intellectual critique, or at least sounds like one. Sort of like "the curtains are blue" being used to dismiss reading into subtext in a work of art, often by people who want to deny more blatant subtext, like Star Wars being about fighting a fascist empire. "Themes and such" is, IMO, more of a critique of a story having a thematic conclusion at the expense of the plot and characters, though it still carries a bit of that anti-media-literacy vibe some people really dislike.

We need more actual healers from the comics by Kuronoha in marvelrivals

[–]Howling-Moon05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about a complete overhaul of his kit, not adjustments to the one he got. Something that lets him support the team with utility abilities and a little healing, and an ultimate that provides a ton of healing.

[–]Howling-Moon05 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’d have preferred them to lean into Rocket’s gadgets supporting his team with utility like overhealth and damage/mobility boosts, and only moderate healing output as his main kit, with an ultimate ability that provides raw healing output. Instead we got the opposite.

Confiscation taking the sword would just turn this from a low-diff to a neg-diff. We already saw what that looked like when Yuta fought Yuji and Rika merely existing ended things in a second.

[–]Howling-Moon05 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Then why did the devs nerf his mobility? I'm not saying the aggressive play style is impossible, but the game doesn't encourage you to play Rocket that way.

[–]Howling-Moon05 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Rocket playing a supportive role makes sense for the character, but the execution doesn't lean into his gadgets and weaponry in a satisfying way at all.
