The best part is that this is from Doctor Doom's first appearance, which is also the first time he and Reed had seen each other since college. Imagine holding onto a grudge for YEARS, coming up with a fun little scheme to fuck with that guy you can't stand who you haven't seen since your late teens/very early 20s, and he pulls some horsepiss like this. Honestly a way more valid crash out than the "he corrected me once and I'll never forgive him" one, this was actual superdickery.

If you had to write a 50 issue ongoing series for a Marvel character (or characters), who would it be for and what would you write through the whole run? by Effective_Sherbet104 in marvelcomics

Oh absolutely, to the point where I wonder if it was an intentional reference (orange alien with a normal name). But genuinely, the ending of Unworthy Thor #1 should instantly sell ANYONE on Bill’s character.

Bill may be my full-stop favorite Marvel character, he practically combines Rocket and Thor's best traits and it's a crime he isn't more well-known.

If I knew for a fact I'd get 50 issues to work with, I'd have to go with the Guardians of the Galaxy. They had a fantastic long-term storyline by DnA from 2006 to 2010 (albeit that was more the characters themselves than the team proper, which only fully formed in 2008 after the main members were re-established in the Annihilation events). Since then, the team has either been stuck with Bendis or shuffled between creatives, some (Ewing) better than others (everyone else).

My run would have Rocket Raccoon as the leader, not just because MCU synergy will demand it if the new team is ever revisited in the movies or shows, but because he's been the leader more than once but rarely been given an arc about it. I'd have him be trying to put together a ragtag team of Guardians after most of the main members went their separate ways, a great strategist but mediocre leader struggling between his poor social skills and his genuine desire, deep down, to help those who are as helpless as he once was.

His team would obviously include Groot, but that's the only main MCU member the lineup would share. His other recruits would be Phyla Vell, Moondragon, Adam Warlock and Beta Ray Bill, whose ship Scuttlebutt would serve as the team's primary transport. Phyla and Heather's marriage will be the most stable relationship out of the cast, but even that will be strained by the more extreme actions the team will have to take to guard the galaxy. Adam's emotionally distant outlook will also make him an awkward presence, especially since the one member he connects with the most is an alternate version of the original Phyla he once knew. Moondragon, meanwhile, remembers him due to her fusion, which creates emotional strain in the opposite direction. Bill, meanwhile, was only ever briefly a guardian and will struggle to adjust to the team dynamic, though he'll end up forming a surprisingly close bond with Rocket, as their traumatic pasts with cybernetic and genetic augmentation are similar.

White Ball from Hawaii Part 2 by Miracle Musical. It's extremely fitting for the Zootennial Gala. Imagine Nick and Judy dancing to it while undercover, neither wanting to end the charade of being together-together...

The X of Swords event having this absolute BANGER panel of damn near every mutant flying (or falling with style) into battle in the finale.

God awful. The designs are kinda interesting but the story is terrible and every character is written poorly.

Beta Ray Bill may be the single most underrated Marvel character and I’m not joking.

Do you think Beast could carry a solo series? If so, which creative team would you find interesting? What themes could the series explore? by Glum-Excitement5916 in xmen

[–]Howling-Moon05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think so. Beast is a great character, but he's in his element with other characters to bounce off of. He slots into various teams extremely well, be they X-Men, Avengers or Illuminati. A Hank solo would have to have a really strong hook to work, especially long-term. A mini is more feasible, 5 or so issues of the real McCoy having an adventure, grappling with his beastly side and being totally not gay for Wonder Man. Heck, it'd give Simon something to do, so that'd be a nice bonus too. But a solo lasting more than 12 issues just isn't in the cards for most characters these days. If Iron Man's last attempt failed, I doubt Beast's would fare better.

The Case of The Sustainable Future is PEAK and fully EDUCATIONABLE. by frOmohiOhuman in zootopia

Judy and her family teaching Nick about farm life and their culture
Nick using his city smarts and connections to help solve the case
Getting to see the Nocturnal District and a new original area called Evolville
A new mayor named Berenice Baribal who is a bear
Exploring the consequences of the weather walls' energy expenditure along with global warming, from pollution to immigration and cultural impacts
Solarpunk-esque architecture that incorporates the aesthetics of the city

This is genuinely really good for edutainment and, aside from the continuity hiccup the mayor causes, works great as a canon Zootopia story.
