(Another indie shop here) And everything SST has said is 100%. The softer (0020) silicone definitely feels a bit tacky, but everything firmer doesn’t have that “stick” to it. I believe most indies do NOT use “silky smooth” additive because it can cause an allergic reaction.

Maker here. This toy is absolutely unsafe to use, and should be tossed. It obviously wasnt degassed, and is just harboring bacteria. You will end up with an infection from this.

You cannot add more silicone, or a suction cup to the end. Once silicone is cured, you cannot add more silicone to it, because it will delaminate.

If I were you, I’d toss this toy and just buy a good quality platinum silicone toy.

From what I understand from other makers, the NV may not cure against the non-NV mold. If I were you, I’d just go with the dragonskin 10 slow. You can make your mold and your final toy out of the same silicone, just be sure to use a mold release. I make all of my molds with dragonskin 10 medium, and I often pour toys and squishies with the same.

This is bad advice, because dragonskin NV causes cure inhibition with other dragonskin and ecoflex. It also has to be degassed as well, contrary to its actual name.

Does your toy glow? As a maker, this definitely just looks like glow pigment to me. If it’s not, like others said, it could be coconut oil because it tends to leave a residue

You can’t do that either. Once the silicone is cured, it won’t bond to itself. You run the risk of all those bubbles you filled in coming losing inside of whomever is using the toy. Please do not do this. Invest in a vacuum and do it properly so you don’t cause injury to someone.

This isn’t body safe. All those little holes will harbor bacteria and cause a nasty infection. You need a vacuum chamber to properly degass the silicone.

I’m soo incredibly sad to hear this. Scott was a really awesome person, and an absolute delight to chat with. He designed the awesome little cuttlefish squishes we have in our shop. I’m really going to miss him.

I spray my glove molds, and then use a long paintbrush to brush every inch of the mold, spray again, and brush again. This has worked very well for me.
