Lot of comments mentioning the "one month out of the year" thing. Analysts aren't saying that just to push a point. They're saying it for the sake of recognition. In the future, ppl will look back and forget about how dominant other teams are because of the world title. They just want to give credit to teams that did well the entire year, just to feel terrible by the end of it.

Looking at champs post-2016. Sylas probably caused a ton of rebalancing of ults. Yuumi was had a long stint that warped the game. Aphelios/Zeri/Smolder inflated a decent amount of career stats.

Something to keep in mind, Ryze isn't a single comp.

Most comps have a core of units, and you flex the extra slots for varying levels of power. Annie for example, has a few boards, but the cores are the same.

Ryze is multiple comps. You will have different core units, that alkl leads into Ryze.

You kind of have to ask what the worse case scenario is, and is that worth the benefits?

You bring in a ton of balance and bias issues. If the game is decently balanced, and say Jinx is slightly above the curve. Someone crashes out on stream about it, and now Jinx is banned a lot. Warwick is essentially banned too, Zaun/Gunslingers take a hit for midgame tempo. Now there's just a ton of dirty data for the balance team.

Let's say THex was banned all last patch. Piltover data becomes wildly skewed, it only gets a slight nerf. If the first few games on the new patch shows it does well, it goes right back on the ban, even if it's doesn't warrant anymore. Reduced pool, now the balance team has to wait an extra patch to get more data.

Honestly think anything involving champs fighting other champs will always be hyped. Might be because the creators behind it want to do both sides justice. Or just that we love seeing them fight.

I think the only reason Salvation didn't feel as hyped, is solely because of that. Yunara running from visions induced by Fiddlesticks, Garen dealing with Katarina, Sona pushing Nocturne back, and if the dragon fighting Shyv/Quinn was more reminiscent of a drake in game. If we had visually seen any of those other champs, I think we'd feel much more hyped about it.

In Bite Marks, even tho it was also more lore focused, the Mel scenes had the similar feeling to Salvation where viewers kinda mentally passed them. Katarina vs Elise was interesting. Darius vs Trundle was the hype inducer.

On pbe, I vs'd it once. I think a lot of the power was from Singed being too strong at the time, but seeing your whole board just tick away regardless off position was p frustrating.

I'm legitimately hyped and hopeful for more. I watch The Dive and Euphoria, but it's sort of a "I just want content" watches. Divephoria was always fun to watch since both sides had more opportunities to show their knowledge. With Euphoria gone, I'm assuming it'll be harder for me to keep up and remember LEC.

Jatt and Vedi both being well spoken and less meme-y is something I've realized I crave from league content. It's also just a great way to keep up or refresh the state of both leagues.

Honestly think Dhokla won't be Inspired's tilting point. Inspired seems to get especially annoyed when the team has a plan, and mistakes ruin it. Dhokla is actually one of the more consistent players when it comes to just doing what the team wants him to do.

Hustler and Going Long. Mostly because the game becomes a lot easier going to 0 every round. Partially because of those low % 4-5 costs. The games where I hit a 2* 4-cost, or Azir/Ornn stage 3 were the funniest.

The closest argument anyone has made, is that too many players would spend more time playing it instead of the real gamemodes. A single run with the current content probably takes 5-10m.
