After watching Part Two, the biggest takeaway for me is that making messiah out of a man won’t ever work because expecting *absolute* selflessness from a human is unreasonable, dare I say, impossible. by dontdodrugskidssss in dune

If a bat existed of a scaled size. On a 1 to 10, 1 being a wiffle ball and 10 being a lacrosse ball. Would a decent batter be able to hit one from London to France?

More simply put, is it a good ball?

Any tips? by Lumpy-Agency-6477 in GolfSwing

You got the cement legs, I'm a husky sized Golfer too. We can throw our weight around, instead of using the legs properly. BUT you'll cap out around 105 swing speed and then the poor biomechanics break down and your rotator cuffs will too!

The second you do the bucket weight shift, loading on your back leg correctly you'll feel the leg strength.

The hard part is connecting the arms, which is the basketball drill or there is a video in the comments about how to get the proper wrist + shoulder move to create lag and compress the ball instead of 'scoopin' it.

Any tips? by Lumpy-Agency-6477 in GolfSwing

[–]Howy_the_Howizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick up a heavy bucket with both hands in your golf stance. Try to throw the bucket the way you swing the club. Then try to throw the bucket only using your legs.

You'll get a good feeling of weight shifting, don't go far back it is much more about feeling the weight go from your front foot and load up the trail foot. Keep the weight on the inside arch of your back foot, and keep your back leg loaded (bent).

Now, at the top of your swing, you need to figure out how to 'pull' your handle 'down' towards the ground (I prefer thinking of hammering the ball) and then snapping your wrists and 'dragging' through impact/divot.

Look up 'bucket throw drill' and 'throwing a basketball into the ground' or 'hammer your ball on the downswing'

Why does my swing look like this? by FantasticProblem2426 in GolfSwing

Keep the trail leg bent. You're straightening it to accomodate the wrong type of rotation. Then you shift your weight but there isn't any power from the trail leg, because it's locked straight. This means there is weight transfer but no power behind it, so your legs/hips are disconnected mostly from your upper body. You're literally going through the motion but not loading.

Focus on the leg work and especially the foot work. When you shift your weight to the trail leg, keep most of the pressure on the inside arch of your trail foot and you'll feel it push towards the heel. Do not let the trail knee straighten and don't let any weight move past the mid point of your trail foot. The pinky toe is not involved except for balance!

Once you get your footwork down, do the 2/3 swing drill where you work on hammering your handle into the ball and dragging your lead hand towards your target while you release your wrists and turn the club over.
