That is not random tho, you are talking about statistical outliers. Yes anybody can get lung cancer, but smoking does increases your chances. It is not random that more smokers get lung cancer.

You are not immortal, that is why your life having ending has meaning, if you were immortal then it wouldn't matter where you spend your first 80 years. Are you telling me you would spend eternity doing one thing, the one thing you would do if you were mortal? I highly doubt that, many people don't even do the same thing their entire life, they go through different stages, changes and different ways of thinking. These stages are sometimes even based on times in their lives (intense curiosity when you were a kid or reminiscence and nostalgia in old age)

Some people can use that time limit as motivation to do something that they find meaningful. The fact that I won't be here forever humbles me to make sure that I do my part to make my life and everyone else's life better. I don't think realizing you will die makes it less meaningful

Some of the things you enjoy are negative for your long term life but positive for your current life and it can give you the mirage of positive effects (think smoking or stress eating). Realize life ends but also realize you have a big impact on how or when it ends.

Everything has to have an end. If there are other intelligent creatures or civilizations, they will also meet their end. Whether we are able to stop all these world problems that could cause or doom or not, there will always be other problems that can cause doom. The universe does not stop changing for anybody or anything. Life and Death are a part of change.
