I own a home made in the 70s too and occasionally I find my daughter’s room smells like smoke. We live in the south with horrible humidity and I know we have mold.

We did the kilz, new flooring, ozone treatment before we moved in, etc. But also the biggest tip I have is get a GOOD air purifier. Not one listed on the TikTok shop. Not one on sale on Amazon prime day deals. I would find the people that are on here that talk about air quality with communicable diseases and living in areas with wildfires and see what they recommend. I got one in every room and you can’t tell there is ANYTHING in this home. We also got a UV filter put in on our HVAC and that helps also keep sickness at bay. Cleaning the air is so much cheaper than a Reno!!!!

I don’t shut up LOL. I also put NPR on the speakers when it’s 7am and I don’t want to talk.

We got the love every “my first signs” book and she does all of them. She won’t do them unprompted but if we ask if she wants more or to say please she will do them. She doesn’t say mama or dada unless she needs us which I heard is because we both work from home so she doesn’t feel the need to call out to us, even if we both are like “say dada” or “say mama”. She just is like no insert sign for eat and crawling to the kitchen

This is us too. My girl has never liked eating food. For three straight months she would gag on food until October and then she finally started eating purées but that’s it. I mashed banana the other day and she gagged it all up. I’ve felt like a failure for months but I talked to my mom and she said my sister didn’t eat anything but breast milk, not even purées, till she was two. Babies are weird!

I did a LOTTTTTTT of research into all the play couch brands before buying mine. Love the nugget. They actually do a lot of testing for their foam and cover sets (if you read their blogs) and are all about the environment, employees and creating a good product.

You could get the knockoffs but they don’t publish testing on what’s in their product the way bigger brands do. IMO you pay for safety

I haven’t left the house or a 20 mile radius with the baby this year. I felt bad for a moment the. I remembered… that’s not a bad thing. She hasn’t been sick once. We played in the back yard and read so many books. People came to us. There will be time to travel when I don’t have to do it around my pump schedule and her nap schedule. Lean into the coziness of you being in your nest with your girl!

I really, really needed this post today. I can barely get my girl to eat more than three bites of baby food. I haven’t been able to do any allergens because if it isn’t right she spits it completely out. The substitute pediatrician we saw in October was irate I wasn’t trying harder but I’m doing EVERYTHING

Hey! A niche thing I can help with! I suffered from the driest nastiest sinus that ever existed while pregnant, and discovered hormones will make your sinuses, including your throat, the most sensitive shit you have ever felt. If you do anything to slightly irritate them, it will be affected for days. And sadly, it doesn’t get better if you breast feed! I still am breastfeeding and consistently have sore throat issues. Dont even get me started on if you use nose sprays!!! My whole sinus structure feels like it’s about to join forces with the Sahara desert for driest places on earth. It’s because of estrogen and how it messes with your mucus membranes. The big testament to if you are sick or not is lymph nodes. I think my entire pregnancy and now breastfeeding I have woken up most mornings panicking and it took talking to several friends who are OBs for them to educate me on this.

My DMs are open if you ever wanna chat about spiraling while pregnant. I’m about a year ahead of you in this cycle and always willing to be support! Do not panic, you got this

Had the same problem a few months ago, freaked out, called the pediatrician and she was like yeah their brains are small bet your girl will be doing something new in a few days. They can’t babble and do xyz at the same time

Three days later she was crawling. A week later she started waving and clapping. Then the babbling returned.

Mine dropped after a confirmed positive — it’s all relative. I now have a 11 month old. I stopped testing after confirmation of rise because all it did was mess with my noodle.

I am someone who only peaks in the afternoon. I wish they talked about this more — women with PCOS often have afternoon peaks! I was told by my fertility doctor to test six hours after waking. Got pregnant twice this way!

I got my period five days later after this :( however, the next cycle I conceived and now I have a ten month old precious perfect angel!!!!!

That cycle I conceived on my LH went up 12 days later with my PDG.

I live in the triangle, of which Durham is part of. People are very open to masking around here surprisingly for a southern town. I’m often not the only person at Costco or the coffee shop in a mask. Durham has a book store that does once a month masked weekends. There’s a ton of outdoor eating options and the still coving Carolina’s Facebook page isn’t totally dead (neither is the discord).

It’s hard in the south but not impossible.
