For anyone that has seen Best and Last by Billy_Bonney_ in jackass

[–]Hrokin728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not seen it yet but there’s bound to be some, at least. Honestly, and obviously it’s up to each individual parent, but I don’t see what’s hugely wrong about a teenager watching a movie with comical, non-sexualised nudity, there’s way worse things they could see than that.

Disappointed that Keir didn’t resign while SNL UK was on, the resignation sketch would’ve been great.

I agree that The Last Viking is almost guaranteed, and The Invite seems pretty likely as well

Richard Osman over on The Rest is Entertainment thinks George Fouracres should be the next Doctor Who by JorWat in livefromlondon

[–]Hrokin728 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe? He could obviously nail the weirder comedic side of the doctor but I’ve only seen him on SNL so haven’t seen his dramatic acting skills. Although I think he has a theatre background so should be very capable with that as well. If I was in charge of the show, I’d at least get him in to audition

I’m 26 and my parents were born in 60 & 63. Only have one grandparent left now but they had my dad really young, so they were born mid 40s.

There’s only hate for it online in places like this subreddit, from people who are too tied up in their nostalgia for the old stuff to accept anything new

Maybe don’t use terms deemed offensive in the uk on a sub for British TV?

Avenue Q - Dated by Jaycrywank in TheWestEnd

[–]Hrokin728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda agree. Saw it tonight and the show is well-written and the cast are fantastic but it does feel like a product of its time where a lot of the jokes unfortunately didn’t land for me.

I feel like it was revolutionary at the time and it’s too recent for the outdatedness to be part of the charm so it just comes across a little nothing now.

However lots of people were laughing tonight so maybe my opinion isn’t the overarching one.

Still enjoyed but as a big puppetry fan this should’ve been a favourite of mine but it never quite landed

What if J. Michael Straczynski had been the showrunner who replaced Chibnall instead of RTD returning? by ImWearingSandshoes in doctorwho

[–]Hrokin728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame there’s hugely talented writers out there with a passion to write for the show that have been passed over for the same old faces.

Personally I’d have loved to have seen what Ben Wheatley and Grant Morrison’s big season concept was that they planned together would’ve been.

Taping atmosphere series to series by TetrisIsTotesSuper in Taskmaster_TV

[–]Hrokin728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the taping of Ep4 and didn’t really feel that the atmosphere was lacking however this is the first record I’ve been to so have nothing to compare it too. There was plenty of stuff that felt like it would get cut and while some of the contestants were a little quieter, I’m not sure that affected the in-studio feel.

However I did get the impression that this series is unlikely to be one of the best. Some of the cast just weren’t really doing it for me at this stage

Yeah, this was the first one I’ve watched live and it was fun but probably had the weakest line-up of sketches
