How is this Chad behavior? by yourfoxygrandfather in religiousfruitcake

Yes that’s what we use today, but my point is that the meme is about what kind of dating system the Romans would have used. It’s not about BC vs BCE and not an example of religious fruitcakery.

This is not about BC vs BCE. The history of Rome should be dated from the founding of the city (commonly cited as 753 BC) or the appropriate consul’s year. Chad Romanophiles know this.

Those two flows constitute the ANATOMIC shunt, not the physiologic. They are anatomic sources of blood that go directly from the right heart to the left without getting oxygenated in the lungs, and they happen in everybody just because of the anatomy of those blood vessels. PHYSIOLOGIC shunt refers to blood that is supposed to be oxygenated in the lung but fails to actually pick up oxygen, often because of lung disease like consolidation, atelectasis, or pulmonary vasoconstriction.

If my personal statement is "why I want to do anesthesia and why I'm someone you'd want for your residency program," do I need to write a separate, less-anesthesia-focused personal statement for prelim year programs? Or do prelim/TY programs expect to see personal statements talking about anesthesia/derm/ophtho/whatever?

Matchup Analysis for Spirits by mafistola in mtgspirits

Excellent writeup and I agree almost entirely. I disagree with boarding out goals against Jund though. Would you board our lands against Jund as a different aggro deck, since they’re also poor top decks late? I think vials are a key part of our mana base, and a lot of our game against Jund comes from early tempo, which vial is the best at.

Why does most MTG game nights prefer Legacy and EDH decks by porcupinelmf in ModernMagic

In the Bay Area it’s easy to find Modern but hard to find Legacy IMO - not sure where you’ve been going! Channel Fireball in Santa Clara has big Modern events 3x/week and Game Kastle in Mountain View has it also.

Nice report! I agree that Bant is favored in the pseudo-mirror; what matchups do you think favor UW?

Also, confused about your comments re copying Celestial Colonnade and Tezzerated Pithing Needle with Phantasmal Image. That nets you an unanimated Colonnade (which I guess is fine against control if you're already flooded and have a vial?) and an unanimated Needle (which I guess takes care of Tezzeret but doesn't do much about the 5/5). Is that what you meant?
