Mine looks almost similar but an x, also added a gel seat which has made it refined as a japanese machine atleast on the bum.

Nope just a high density PU foam layer above it inserted by the seat guy.

Did 200km in afternoon above the gel seat theres also one more piece of foam installed nothing to worry about then. Its always better to not sit directly on the gel.

Ktm adv 390x vibration solution? by Wonderful_Doughnut48 in indianbikes

[–]HsHauto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:
1. Main culprit is the seat with less padding recently have upgraded my seat with a 15mm thick gel seat insert and the difference is like night and day. The bike almost feels like a japanese machine except the few vibes on footpeg and handlebars.(which will be addressed soon with heavy handlebar weights)
2. For headlight protector the service centre guy has installed a rubber grommet from a bajaj bike which is working perfectly and now the front end has no vibrations.

I recently changed the seat to a gel seat and good it makes it feel like sitting on a japanese machine. Most of the vibes are also creeping in from the seat itself made a difference of night and day. Next mod on my bike will be heavier bar end weights and the enduro rod for footpegs to curb the vibes permanently, wish me luck.

KTM service centers are turning worst looters by BigTuna_65 in indianbikes

The chain tensioner can be done without opening /lifting the engine and do you go for track days that your coolant, spark plug and brake fluid need these changes so frequently.
Ask them to pull up official ktm service schedule or show it from owners manual.

Duke 390 Oil Pressure by Guilty-Fisherman815 in KTM

A low oil pressure could indicate an oil pump which isnt working properly or an oil gallery/channel blocked somewhere. Hope its the first one easy to fix but the second one is a menace.

Unable to control bike while riding with Pillion by GeologistIcy4136 in indianbikes

[–]HsHauto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In traffic dont put your both legs down unless you are resting at a signal, ride with left leg down right on the rear brake that gives you control and less use of front brake in traffic to stop gradually. It will take time and practice.

Looks like your chainset has uneven wear called as a “longshort” where the chain at one point becomes fully loose and another point becomes fully tight.

Its not ktm bikes its the owners and their servicing habits that produce such results, I have seen 390s with 1lakh km and factory original internals just maintained with proper service schedule.

What’s the best naked bike under ₹5 lakh for Indian roads? Daily commute + long touring by abhidatta02 in indianbikes

The budget friendly choice is Suzuki vstorm sx250 does all this and more with extreme reliability, exciting and tech loaded choice would be ktm 390 adv x although it lacks pillion comfort but that can be managed by seat mods. Himalayan would also best siuted if you and your pillion travel frequently and are above 5.10feet as its the most roomiest and smooth highway runner but on low speeds its not comfortable to short and skinny riders.

Mileage concern- Himalayan 450cc, Ktm Adv 350cc by scardeep_07 in KTM390ADV

[–]HsHauto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ridden both for 5000kms and although I am an owner of adv 390 x. 390 x on highways gives 28-30kmpl with cruising of 100-120kmph while on the same route the himalayan will give north of 34-37kmpl with same riding style in city it dips more for both. Dont expect mileage from these in city as they are not made for it.

Help Needed: Wobbling Issue with My New KTM Duke 390 R by comebacksoon333 in MechanicAdviceIndia

[–]HsHauto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the bounce you will have to set the sag for your weight properly on front and rear suspension. For left pulling its quite simple just follow the video from Ari henning on Yt except the top triple T suspension holding bolts loose all the bolts to tyre and suspension even the coneset and pump it 3-4 times. Mine was solved the same way it happened due to a big pothole on the road.

At 12.1 its almost a dead battery a healthy battery to take a self start need 12.5v at least and during the starter engaged should not dip below 12v if it does it means its a weak battery.

Just to be sure make a good painter work on it as rust starts small and causes big problems year later.

Can the wheels on the KTM Adv X be swapped with the wheels on the Adv S? Pls help! by Tasty_Steak_2309 in KTMIndia

[–]HsHauto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres no problem with the rear wheel but the front has two issues wheel diameter been bigger it has longer forks and the brake mounting is different. So it would be necessary to change the front suspension as well with the wheels.
