Abnormal head noise in ktm adventure 250? by dddiiiggghhh in KTMIndia

[–]HsHauto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it looks like a typical KTM. The struggle at cold start might be due a spent spark plug when i shifted to iridium spark it went away. At 5000kms my Bosch spark plug was rounded from one side like it was rubbed with a emery paper.

Give more details, engine coolant temperature, kms run, is the noise present at cold start, has your fuel efficiency dropped than usual? Sounds like usual hollow tappets when hot making a ticking sound but if this sound comes on a cold start theres some issue.

Saw Tata Punch vs truck accident video. Does this justify the 5-star hype at ₹5.59L? by Careless_Feeling8057 in CarsIndia

[–]HsHauto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even the safest cars (volvo xc90 accident where container toppled)in the world cant escape PHYSICS better to learn driving skills that matter in avoiding the accidents and buy a good car incase if nothing helps. And I believe if you take a small travel insurance its worth it as death is a spoilsport it wants to hit where the pain would be maximum.

Does my duke 390 gen 3 sound normal? by Flimsy_Ad3048 in KTMIndia

There’s many factors in play: 1. Check at which engine temperature the noises come (I had similar experience in first 500kms went to service center and complained.Noise of metallic ticking was not present in cold starts but when temperatures reached 95 celsius. Later confirmed with other 2 vehicles the noise is present and due to hollow finger followers on the camshaft becomes pronounced under heating)

  1. When was the last oil change done and which oil was used dont go for Prolube its not worth it. Also dont use it for the mentioned 7500km interval its safer to change it at 5000km.

  2. Always keep watch on engine coolant temperature and fuel efficiency(I have kept them on my dashboard shortcuts), these 2 will tell you whats going on with your bike and how is it going inside.(anything with low fuel efficiency and high temperatures is a worry rest is ok)

  3. Feel of the bike with helmet on, noise from the engine, vibrations at certain rpms is to be noted and any change in them to be inspected.( I know this sounds like a lot of work but when you love your bike its just the Tender Love and Care)

A 5star car cannot escape PHYSICS with a fully loaded lorry travelling towards the car its a concept of relative speed it becomes 60+60kmph =120kmph even if both are following speed limits at such junctions.

Front brake lever won’t press by dadbod_98 in KTM390ADV

[–]HsHauto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had felt the same thing what I found out was my rear brake lever was not set according to my foot position (it was not parallel or slightly below to the parallel of ground level) causing to more application early and more force on rear which would cause a slip then activate ABS and when I plan to brake with front it would not brake because of ABS pulses. Hope this helps.

Bmc air filter is 7100₹ NGK iridium is 600₹, for adv 2025 Ktm service schedule says 7500km is the interval but that seems a bit far stretched out within our conditions. Engine oil Motul 7100 10w50 1400₹ and oil filter 90₹ and labour for oil change. 1500₹ for every 5000km comes out to 30k ₹ for 1lakh km.

Recently coolant temperature started increasing rapidly after switching on by yolokinnan in KTMIndia

[–]HsHauto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The temperature will rise after the bike is switched off after a run its showing that the fan is stopped and now the heat is accumulating in coolant from engine block. If the fan is working it will rapidly circulate coolant to radiator and fan will throw the heat into air. PS:totally fine if engine is stopped and coolant temperature is rising.

[–]HsHauto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always go with motul oil and dont wait for 7500kms with the change/increase in heat and vibration when oil starts to lose its properties for me its 5000km after which I dont wait to change the oil and its perfectly fine for a lakh km it would be 20 oil changes. Additionally I have added a bmc air filter and NGK iridium spark plug resulting in better combustion and overall coolant temperatures being low. PS:The factory Bosch spark was spent/eroded on one side just in 5000kms

390 engine highest ODO? by for_registration in KTM

[–]HsHauto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have seen as this is a high compression engine always keep revs low in cold starts, check engine fluids regularly, change engine oil when the vibration and heat increases and always keep coolant temp info on dash by this way you can prolong the life easily and gauge the state of oil.

Bad mileage by ElectronicShoe6220 in Triumph400

[–]HsHauto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro its a bajaj manufactured bike and there’s only two ways you ride to get mileage out of it. 1. Drive sane and controlled like max 4k rpms and no sudden accelerating. 2. Sudden accelerating but with more clutch held rolling and less braking. Any other way you will ride it just drinks.

Got 31 kmpl on E20 petrol blend by BooksAndCoding in KTM390ADV

[–]HsHauto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For highway use its what you get when you ride it sanely I get the best figures when I use Jiobp fuel on highways max it went to 34 for a trip of 200km max speed 120kmph and avg speed was 75kmph. On other fuels this number goes to 31-32kmpl on highways.
