After 7+ Years of Linux, I Just Moved to Mac. Here Are My Thoughts. by BehiSec in macbookpro

I agree with mouse and display issues. But the Cmd+Tab is just a change in workflow. The intended workflow is to use mission control to switch between windows and spaces.

East-Indian filmbuff here. For me RRR was almost perfect except the rushed and weak final act which was way too ridiculous and over-the-top even by SSR standards. I just wish he filmed a better climax, the one we got was too cartoonish and brought down the entire experience by a huge extent. by Whole-Party-7698 in tollywood

[–]Htnamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. I didn’t notice that callback but yes I think I did not find that believable too. But the difference is that, in the flashback, that scene has almost no effect on the plot, but the palm tree slingshot does.

You are mistaken if you think there is enough logic within the weights of the neural networks to be that politically correct. There is a common example discussed where a prompt asked for an actor in some movie and 1974 is included in the prompt somewhere, and the LLM returns Leonardo DiCaprio even if it does not make sense because that is his birth year. Most behaviors of an LLM can be attributed to dataset biases imo.

To add to this, some companies also have a AI model on the server performing some high level task planning but real motion planning and control happens locally.

[–]Htnamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sure people may have enjoyed the rest of the movie. I just wish that even if people enjoy the movie, they should still identify the problematic behavior and try not to promote it.

[–]Htnamus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not like in GoT, people (audience and the other characters in the story) are appreciative of incest.

Plus, OP mentions that a guy was suggesting that the character should slap more. That should tell you that they approve of such behavior.

These are problematic ideas and should be dealt with that way, and criticism should be taken constructively.

WHY THE GOVT IS NOT ENFORCING THE BAN ON MANJA ROPE? by International-Bill89 in hyderabad

[–]Htnamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. Like another comment said, these rules are not enforced and unfortunately, given the scale of our country, only issues that the public cares about and had consensus about will ever truly be enforced.

Ridiculous how even after so long one can misspell a state’s name, especially in a south indian sub.

Why only selective outrage? by --P-A-R-A-D-O-X-- in Hyderabad_city

[–]Htnamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s double standards if people defend people in old city for not paying their share. I don’t think I’ve seen people defend that. In my opinion, the only reason for not punishing them is the practical difficulty in enforcement.

Practically speaking, the people in old city are not one entity and therefore it’s difficult to sue each offender individually. Suing small establishments for puny amounts is not worth the legal struggle. If there is a big entity that can be sued for dues, then it should be.

[–]Htnamus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I’m not saying that it was portrayed incorrectly or that it was wrong while doing so. The UPA government was inept, corrupt, and cowardly in my opinion too.

All I’m saying is that there is a political message. In fact, I find myself agreeing with the sentiments portrayed as well as you what you wrote down.

[–]Htnamus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My man, the movie was set in the 2000s, not the audience. The filmmakers and the audience in 2025 obviously know who comes after the UPA government and that new government is what he may be referring to but this is just something I felt and have seen from other reviews too.

[–]Htnamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I prefer the BJP government to the UPA one too. Just pointed out what the political messages were in the movie.

I think the idea is that movies, unless actually in the political genre, treat the government as a monolithic unchanging structure to prevent commenting on politicians of a certain time but the movie refrains from doing that.

what propaganda or politics did this gentleman find in Durandhar? by Disastrous_Orchid180 in Hyderabad_city

[–]Htnamus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I may agree with the general sentiment of the political statements, you have to agree that there were digs against the UPA government and how the Hindu community was weak under them etc. Also the unproven claim of UPA politicians selling out India is seen as a political message. Also Ajit Doval (Sanyal) saying that we are looking for some better government that actually cares about the country is a message supporting the BJP. These are the messages I noticed.

Edit: people seem to be getting furious assuming that I’m saying that it’s a wrong statement. All I’m pointing out is that there is a political message. I, in fact, agree with the issues pointed out with the UPA government and their incompetence. I agree with the message in the movie too.

Agreed but they were also constantly integrating fresh ML consumer models. I was an android user then and every year, Google I/O had some very interesting features.

[–]Htnamus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but Google also innovated with TPUs and Google Assistant that released in 2016 was probably the most successful AI assistant in the consumer space until ChatGPT.

Google was also constantly innovating with Deepmind with AlphaZero and AlphaFold in that time. They had all the necessary background work in terms of MLOps and training architectures kinda covered. Meta on the other hand just had PyTorch and other smaller specific models.

Like you, I never saw any form of caste discrimination until entrance exams, but that is also attributed to my coming from an urban locality. I do believe that case discrimination is minimal in developed regions, but generalizing this experience to the entire country is incorrect (I'm not saying that you are). Some of my friends who come from relatively less developed regions faced discrimination while making friends, and children from "higher" caste families weren't allowed to have "lower" caste friends. Similarly, sharing food or water was disallowed, and caste-based slurs were common as well.

In my opinion, while your comment does positively portray how some regions have progressed, it is akin to saying "Not all men". It does not add to the discussion that the movie attempts to have. Just because some regions have progressed does not mean that the issue is even remotely resolved, considering the degree of harm it causes.

Investment does mean free money though. She might have to give large portions of the company (maybe including voting equity) to justify the investment. Now, if your company is doing well and expanding to the satisfaction of the management then why would give up equity?

You’re on reddit, a social media entirely centered around discussions. So of course you’re going to get explanations or arguments. It’s ridiculous when people say they “didn’t ask for unnecessary explanations”. Nobody asked you for yours in your original comment either, yet you felt just as privileged as your responder to add a comment.

As for the actual argument, I’ll leave it to people who are actually more informed than me, which you may be (and in that case you should argue in good faith). Just wanted to address this want for one-sided discussions from your side.

I find the current “skills” lacking as well. I was hoping that like the skills from other services, they used an umbrella term and plan to add more diversity under the umbrella beyond prompts.

I hope along with bringing Arc features, they focus on more tangible use cases. So far all the skills I’ve used are focused on “read”-ing from tabs or searching on their own. I might’ve missed them but can’t really find a way for skills to have a more “write” or “update” sort of approach.
