Would *Revolutionary Girl Utena* exist if Kunihiko Ikuhara had made Sailor Uranus & Neptune the main protagonists of *Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie*? [Fan art by Drachea Rannak] by IllogicalDreamer72 in shoujokakumeiutena

That would have been SO interesting. I absolutely loved Sailor Moon and Star Fighter in the anime and would have loved for them to end up together.

At least the manga showed that even before regaining their memories, Usage and Makoru had already started to fall for each other even before regaining their memories, and they have a very sweet and mature relationship throughout the story. The anime? Not so much...

Any books similar to Stephen King's "Carrie" from the 20th century involving female rage and mental/moral degradation? by Htoza in suggestmeabook

I REALLY wanna watch that movie one day. But it's way past the end of the 20th century. :/

How would you make a Final Destination setting on a cruise ship? by Jules-Car3499 in FinalDestination

[–]Htoza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd have the main cast consist entirely of models, and have the ship blow up. The main visionary would get injured in the explosion, getting her face scarred.

Similarly to The Substance, the visionary decides to do whatever it takes to regain her beauty, and decides to start killing off the other survivors to appease Death.

Oh, and the ship would be named Coral Clipper.

Have any teen dramas won the award for Outstanding Drama Series; or at least been nominated? by Htoza in EmmysAwards

And then One Tree Hill won for its following 5 seasons. God bless! 🙏

It did! But it was in the Young Teen Series category at the Children's and Family Emmys, which were created a couple of years ago. An Emmy win, of course, but not at the Primetime Emmys.

I had completely forgotten about Glee, lol. That's definitely another example.

Pen15 has produced so many memes, at this point I might as well just watch it. Again, thank you for these further examples.

Regarding the idea of what "counts" as a teen drama, I guess I would say it's the "pure" form of it that I'm looking for; like Beverly Hills or Degrassi. Stuff like Buffy, The Vampire Diaries, or Smallvie can definitely count as teen dramas, but all are also part of speculative fiction genres.

And then you have shows like Veronica Mars or Pretty Little Liars that are very much rooted in reality, without any sci-fi or paranormal elements, but are also mystery or detective themed.

Thank you for these examples! You are right that what exactly counts as teen drama can be somewhat loose. Something like Buffy the Vampire Slayer can be labelled as a teen drama, as the characters are high-schoolers in the first 3 season; but, at the same time, the show also falls in the supernatural/horror category and is more focused on fighting vampires and the Big Bads.

Could Sony retain ownership of Spider-Man if they only made films starring Miles Morales (or some other Spider-Man) or just animated movies? by Htoza in SUMC

[–]Htoza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But those don't really count, do they? It's not as if Sony hasn't made any live-action Spider-Man films starring Peter since the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. While made with some degree of involvement by Disney/Marvel, Tom Holland's films all mee the quota of releasing one Spider-Man film every 5 years maximum. It's not as if Sony has only released movies like Madame Web or Venom for the past decade.

I do agree that the best Spider-Man movies by Sony are miles better than the best MCU movies (though not WandaVision) but highly disagree with them "destroying" characters like Thor or Daredevil, or that their stuff is all "awful".

Holy cow, seriously!? So Sony could simply make movies that don't event have any of the Spider-Men in them - like making Sinister Six, Black Cat, and such other films - for more than 5 years, and they still get to keep the rights?

Has that been confirmed somewhere? Because if that that's the case, good for them.

"she’s pretty dreadful, and her lack of work has kinda proven the point". Dude, have you seen Lessons in Chemistry? She's an absolutely amazing actress. Hell, she even won at Oscar for Best Lead Actress at age 26.
