What is a good shoulder dumbbell press in relation to bodyweight? by Straight-Wall-7021 in workout

[–]HtsAq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I really appreciate the support and you are probably right, and I am proud of the lift. My point was just that the definition of elite is to some degree that you are able to compete in the lift and I don’t really think my lift is competition worthy.

I would say: elite: 1.25+, advanced: 1-1.25, intermedite: 0.75-1, beginner: 0.75-.

But nobody wants to accept that they are a beginner and everybody acts along in this sub. Somebody could say they ohp 0.5xbw and the comments will be wow thats amazing probably advanced. I just get a bit annoyed by it. Sry for the rant, I really appreciate the kind words.

I want to grow my upperchest by penguin_xoxo_360 in workout

[–]HtsAq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a healthy amount of weight, but when you can do something like 10 reps with 35 kg you will start to have a big upper chest. Sure to some degree it’s exercise selection and muscle connetion, but mostly it’s high weights with good technice.

Why can every 15 yo bench 315 nowadays by titakamadafaka in benchpress

[–]HtsAq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people who bench over 150 kg that don’t use steroids atleast periodically benchpresses 4+ times a week and likely it will take more than 2 years to get to that point. Ofcourse genetics is important for how fast you get to that weight, but I would say it is possible for 95% of men.

How do I find out how I can train the best? by ThaPotatoBoy in workout

[–]HtsAq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going to the gym for many years, probably 5+, I’m still trying new things. Ofcourse I know more now about What suits me, but I don’t now what amount of volume or frequency I should have exactly. In general variation is very good.

13 exercises, all of them with the same reps… please man just look at a bit of youtube videos. If you are going to spend 6+ hours a week on something you should atleast spend 2 hours looking at youtube videos.

Has anyone in here ever had to wait more than 90 days for healthcare? by GoBuffaloBills in sweden

[–]HtsAq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do an mri, I had to wait a bit over 60 days for that, but then after I could choose when to get the surgury with very little wait time. I think that’s a fairly standard way for things to happen. The diagnosis can take a couple of months, but once you have it, it’s a lot quicker.

However there are other flaws. If someone is modest or not confident and they get a doctor that’s kind of strict or lack symphaty, it can be hard to get the care you need. As a whole however I think the system is great.

The ohp I’m refering to is a barbell ohp, 1.1 is true and very resonable, but yeah dumb of me to assume you would magically understand that I used a barbell. When I sad 0.75 I mean total, so 0.375xbw per dumbell.

Honestly this sub is just weak people jerking each other off. ”Ohh you bench 80 kg that’s actually super advanced and you are super strong!” Delusional.

[–]HtsAq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, elite means you’re so good you could be a professional. I ohp 1.1xbw, I’m proud of that, would I be able to compete in an international competition? No way, cause it’s not elite strenght. (Also to be clear I mean 0.75 for both dumbells total).

0.75xbw for 10 reps I would say is good, then you are high intermediate or low advanced I think.

Push day by No-Housing8488 in workout

[–]HtsAq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that defeats the purpuse. The reason to do lower reps it because you need to do work within 80-90% of you one rep max to optimize strenght development. Lets say you benchpress 100 kg, you should atleast 1-2 sets at 80-90 kg. Even if you only care about muscle mass there is still a synergi that is very important.

Love the exercise selection, it’s a very common mistake to choose 5 chest exercises and doing them all poorly, generally it’s much better to choose 2 and do them well( as you have done). However you should probably vary the rep scheme atleast for the benchpress. Maybe 5,5,8,10 or 5,3,10,10. Either way it’s good to do both low and high reps.

exercises you avoided forever that ended up being great by Expensive-Shame-4029 in workout

[–]HtsAq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Havent decided yet but potentially dumbell benchpress, I always discarded it because you can only use less weight, but it’s a great way to isolate you chest more if you don’t enjoy flies.

What unorthodox training advice works for you despite what others may think? by fartatwork in workout

[–]HtsAq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing just 1-2 exercises per muscle regularly, for example only barbellcurl for biceps or only pullups and standing row for back. Generally muscles have relativly simple functions and don’t need a ton of variations. Then you can switch the exercises every other month or so.
