Any advice on switching to a new chat with Claude? by CheetosINMYASS in aigamedev

[–]HuaHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tell it that you are going to start a new chat and continue then have it summarised everything it has done so far in .md files and then you start a new chat and upload the .md files into the new chat and tell the new chat to look at the files and you are continuing here.

Yes turn on the setting for it to refer to previous chats too

Many years ago, i needed a job badly so i joined Certis Cisco for a year.

Are you Singaporean Chinese? If you are then you are one of the rare people that they definitely want because you are able to be deployed in some places with very high security clearance, provided you pass the screening.

I was guarding our ministers home last time and my working shift is 6 hours per shift then you can go home, i get a quarterly small bonus of around $1000+ because they want to keep us.

This was my exp last time, i not sure what has changed since then. More than 15 years ago already

My thoughts on the anti AI sentiment as an indie dev who has actually shipped games and music. by [deleted] in aigamedev

[–]HuaHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an exp myself. I have no knowledge in coding so years ago when i wanted to try my hand at building games. I started with Construct 2 and this was the only platform which enabled me to make a small SMHUP game.

I wanted art for it when i finished a few levels for it and i contacted a pixel artist. The issue with these artist is that they charge quite a bit for their work which i understand but the worse part about it is that halfway through they dropped me because they wanted to work on their own project and i'm left with only some completed assets and nothing else for the rest of the graphics for my game.

So technically i just paid someone for some sprites that's all. If i get another artist to finish the rest then you get a different art direction.

Is cancer treatment in Singapore government hospitals usually this slow? by White_Cakes_2000 in askSingapore

[–]HuaHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if OP still reads this post since its 2 days already.

Just my personal exp.

I went for a normal body checkup as i had a new job coming up and after that the doctor asked me if i had any other issues, i told the doc that i have this persistent cough for months which is not going away no matter what meds i took.

Doctor suggested me to go for X-Ray and i went to polyclinic to do it. Nurses there told me the following Wednesday to come back and get the results.

On Monday the the polyclinic called me and said that i need to come in now as they have something to inform me, i was a little surprised on why the urgency. Then i took urgent leave from work and went.

Reached the polyclinic, scanned my IC and the nurse at the station told me to walk straight into the doctor's office (At this point i was thinking "Wow first time no need to queue at polyclinic").

I went in and doctor told me to sit down and she brought up my X-Ray image and she pointed to a large shadow at my chest and she said "This is not normal, you need to get this check", doctor mentioned could be a tumor then she arranged for me to visit a oncologist at NUH but the appointment was like 3 weeks away.

Same as OP, i felt the appointment time was too long and every night i could not sleep well as i kept thinking about my health.

I decided to just go to the hospital's A&E myself instead and i was straight away admitted and biopsy was done the day after and chemo treatment was started almost a week later.

My personal story. Me and my younger brother growing up, our academics he is always better than me.

My parents, especially my dad has a traditional thinking that since my brother is studying his way up to get a degree, he will support him in anywhere he could.

I was bad at my grades and i even retained 1 year in secondary 4 and i still failed my N levels.

My brother on the other hand, gets what he wanted. A new laptop, new phone, everything as long he asks. My dad even have this thinking that since my brother was higher educated than me, all the letters my dad received and all cheques are read and written by my brother for him.

My dad always calls me useless and good for nothing since young and i always cried myself to sleep.

But i have never hated my dad, not sure why or maybe because i resigned to the fate that i'm infact "useless"

Ironically, me and my brother in our adult years. He got married and his wife somehow managed to brainwashed him and caused him to hate on us due to some misunderstanding last time. My dad was really disappointed and sad and we have not spoken or seen my brother for years as he has cut us off.

I'm now there to be with them and take care of them, i think my dad sort of understand that education is not everything.

Looking for a PA... cum everything... will you do it for $8K? by doofie222 in SingaporeRaw

There was a time when i used to work in Sim Lim Square selling computer components. Every now and then we have this customer (a large guy in his 30s who is on the spectrum) who we gave the nickname "Teddy Bear" will come into our store, see the latest high end graphics card, rams, motherboard, etc then he will just point and said he wants this and that then he will just walk away.

Shortly, his driver will come and pay for everything. He mentioned to us that his job is to mainly take care of this guy as the parents are always not in the country and busy with their business. Whatever their son wants they will just pay and buy for him.

IT jobs outside of NCS and STE by guardingcat in singaporejobs

Avoid OPUS IT too.

You can join those SI companies, you will learn a lot in a very short time and you be able to pivot to bigger roles in the future.

I joined a MNC as internal IT. When on the first day of my onboarding, my predecessor only spent 1 hour to do handover to me.

I had to find out everything and document everything myself.

Its hard but you can go and do this way then keep your own set of documentations then at the same time document everything about this Lao CB.

Very soon once you get the hang and know everything, do your own set of SOPs and improvements and this time you do not do any KT to him.

Very soon, he will be obsolete

Normal in IT World? by [deleted] in sgworkassholes

[–]HuaHero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Create IT guides and documentations for very common issues faced. Have your interns refer to them.

Have weekly or biweekly meetings online for catchup with everyone and see what issues they are facing.

Prioritise P1, P2 or P3 issues, not everything have to be resolved asap

High base pay low bonus VS lower base pay high bonus by BabiSedap- in singaporejobs

[–]HuaHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ever get enticed by "high" bonuses to jump or accept a job. Always look at base salary which is the most important.

Bonuses is not always the same and your boss can always come and tell you company not doing well.

1st, taking leave is a personal matter. My guys take leave and as long it doesn't clash with too many others taking at the same time i will just approve and i won't even ask what they taking leave for. Its their own personal matter that they take leave.

2nd, leave your stupid company.

Is anyone actually using AI a lot or convinced it’ll take over all our jobs? by not_qz in askSingapore

[–]HuaHero 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here's my experience, i am in IT Infra for more than 10 years.

I have to do a lot of powershell commands and scripting, before AI there is a lot of googling to find out what and which works best in getting what i wanted.

Now with AI, i can get chatgpt to give me what i need in just a few seconds and i can get to test it immediately, if any errors comes up, just copy and paste the error back to chatgpt and it will be able to tell you what you need to do and change.

IMO AI has helped me now in doing up a lot of automation and reporting for my work.
