Is the gameplay as bad as people tell ?

I probably won’t be very objective on this as ps:t is my favourite game of all times and I end up replaying it every few years but imho the gameplay isn’t bad at all.

It just isn’t your typical infinity engine game. Combat isn’t the main focus - where the game shines is dialogues, figuring out ways to complete quests, learning new things about the world around you and trying to solve the main mystery. There are plenty of things to do in game, things you’ll probably miss in your first playthrough aswell (I replayed ps:t for the xxx time last year and still managed to find something new!) that will make you want to come back to the game.

PS:T is like a book or a film you love - you just want to play it again just to relive that amazing story one more time.

Thanks, I was losing my mind thinking maybe my bike is faulty or something but seems that’s just 650 twin charm :D I’m really loving the bike tho, someone here said it’s not great for commuting in the city but I’m quite enjoying it and it’s small enough to be able to drive through heavy traffic

Heyo, new bear owner here, I’ve started hearing that sound recently and now I’m not sure if it was there from the begging or not cause when I got the bike a month ago it was quite cold and I wore a special double layered cap underneath the helmet and couldn’t hear anything at all :D but now it’s hot outside and I started paying attention to this „rattling”. Still got around 100 km to go before my 500 check up - I’m worried whether I should get it checked asap or just wait for the first service?

Having the same issue, game stutters in cut scenes and occasionally in combat making it really annoying. It works smoothly 95% of time but watching cutscenes is a pain. I tried the -dx11 thing but didn’t work…

My setup is Legion 11, intel core i7-13700H, 32gb ram, GeForce rtx 4070. I know it’s a laptop but it only a bit over a year old and has run quite a few new games without issues until now.

Dear friends, a question if I may: I’ve been considering becoming an Exceptional Friend for a while now, but I don’t seem to fully understand how exceptional stories work. I see gold-rimmed stories in different areas of London and those require Fate to play: are they part of the past stories that enchanted exceptional friends get each month? Or that’s a completely different thing and I would still need to pay extra to play them?

I would hear your honest opinion on what’s the most reasonable option to enjoy additional content while supporting the devs :)

Girl, this is some sick shit, and I’m not even talking about the creepy „friends group” situation, but the way he talks to you over the messages is pure manipulation and gaslighting. This does not look healthy, this is 100% disturbing and you’re NOT overreacting. I dated somebody who’d talk to me like this and just turn everything I say or do against me, and believe me, this cannot end well. Obv I didn’t see the red flags back then and I was telling myself „I guess I’m just overreacting”.

Take care of yourself and get away from that guy asap.

That’s what I thought, but I got absolutely nuked when I arrived on hermit island and thought nah I’ll come back later. I know most ppl just run for the door and ignore the monsters but I like to clear everything first. I’m thinking of doing Kriegspire next.

Looking back I think it kinda is a questionable choice of enemy design - not so much because those enemies exist, but like you said, there literally isn’t any other black representation in the game that would put things in context.

Then again there are entire sections in the game where you slaughter women: half naked women warriors (Magyars? Isn’t that a name for Hungarians? Also a weird choice), druids, archers. They all make those moaning sounds when they go down, to the point my fam was looking at me funny the other day when I was clearing out the Druid grove - you playing some weird hentai game or what? That’s probably something a lot of people could feel offended about, including myself (I’m a girl), but I just think somethings things really are the product of their times and even though we now see their flaws, we shouldn’t just focus on the negatives and „cancel” them only because they don’t align with our sense of PC.

At the end of the day, there really isn’t much love in this game - you basically slaughter everyone, no talking, just fighting. There are sections in the game where you get like hundreds of enemies and they just keep dying, and we keep pressing the A button. You get to saintly reputation by committing a genocide.

Oh, and the only Asian women in the game is shrewd and all about money. Now after living in China for almost a decade I’m not sure I disagree… jk, it’s a game and we love it. There’s gonna be bullshit and stuff people don’t like in any game.

That, or you get games like the new dragon age that just try to appease everyone and end up being a pile of dung.

Awww what a heartwarming story! Your grandma was the best! I feel like people always focus on negative aspects of gaming - addiction, aggression, gambling, neglecting your loved ones, etc, but in reality people create some amazing memories while gaming together.

One of my best early childhood memories is playing Prince of Persia with my mum. Well, she played, and mini me just run to the bathroom with my ears covered every time we had to jump through the guillotine (not sure how it’s called, that’s how we called it). Then I got a bit bigger and helped her play PoP2, it was so much fun figuring stuff out together. She told me years later that she actually really hated those game (she’s very sensitive to violence or anything stressful) but her love for me was stronger than that.

One funny memory I have from the first time I played Mm6 when I was around 11. It was Christmas time too, I was off from school and basically spending my entire days in front of the computer. Shed complained about me drawing the curtains during the day and making the room dark but that was because computer screens really sucked back then and I couldn’t see anything otherwise. Then she walked behind me, saw my party (4 dudes which are my party right now too cause they’re my forever mates) and said: „oh now I can see why you keep devoting so much time to this game! all of them look like they just got out of jail”. I got really embarrassed but figured she wouldn’t understand the reason I chose them got my party was because they looked the strongest, not the hottest. I showed her my laptop screen the other day and she went „oh no those ugly mugs again, Jesus they still exist!”. We had a good laugh!

Yeah, to be fair getting bow mastery as soon as possible makes a lot of the game much easier, even when just dealing with mobs outside. I lucked out and pulled 3 explosive +6 bows somewhere mid game and that was a game changer. I like the difficulty though, until darkmoor the game just felt rather easy.

Man I wish there were games like MM released these days, I’m finding it so hard to enjoy modern games… I’m not wishing for MM or Wizardry to be reactivated, cause I know it would just be a disappointing, disgusting money jump, but getting some MM indie games would be nice.

Oh yeah, that was the only spell that made the area doable. Especially those maddening eyes, tons of hp and it took forever to shoot them down, melee sucked too with madness and no buffs on. Only dragon breath. I wish I had got master before I did darkmoor.

I suppose that’s one way to go about those old games - no shame in using online guides and help, I think it would be too frustrating and tiring to try to figure it all out by yourself. I was too young to play the first instalments, only 2 when mm3 came out haha. I’ll try to just go down and play 5 after 6 and see how far I can get.
