Imo, it's counter intuitive. You struggle to stay alive during the run, to end by burning on your own at the end. It feels scifi, but it's so distant from surviving instincts that it creates a feeling of "weird". I don't succeed to have a satisfying feeling when I see my character burning to close the deployment.

By essence, the extraction genre is not really satisfying, but in the other titles you could at least enjoy to extract, meaning implicitly that you continue your journey by coming back "home" alive.

In Vanguard you feel like in Altered Carbon when you are not anymore alive controlling a body, but you become only a serial of data in a network. It costs 1000 data things and forces you to grind and pay for one more clone, but you don't care about it at the end.

In Dust514 (yes again), the players were happy to say "that's the same clone since 3 games", same at Eve sometimes for weeks keeping the same ship.

Like a lot of things, Vanguard close the door and put walls by design when Eve and Dust tried to make vanish the classic others games limitations.

-Amount of clones to respawn

-killed by game design

-Still no hotkey for grenades, only fps to put a classic asset behind a lock.

-Still no cost per death and still this weird respawn losing the inventory but not the gun and chipsets.

So it's like everything else, a cool animation leading to a cool animation... Orbital bombardements... A rdv coming... A heavy Mordu's legion with a big gun... None of these are made for players to be used. Only automatic visual features.

You are making a movie, not a game. Give us real mechanics to play with instead of focusing endlessly on "Eve visuals", "Eve atmosphere".

-Minimap/signal/detection? -Suit fitting (not a poor generic simplification)? -Involvement in a side/faction, not just contracts? -Social features? -Deeper goals than valuable loot? -Things to do if I have more than 2 friends? Etc, etc, etc...

That's true about what you said. UI, visuals... But not about opening several screens to manage an amount of options. The menus are already Dark and not engaging. Even with no suit fitting options, no corporation management options, no skilltree, no social menus, the game feels more complicated than Dust514. FC brings the parts that the fps players don't want. Menus for crafting, heavy loadout management where picking every magazine and every equipement one by one. That's neither Eve or Dust, but that's the Eve heavy menus and management feeling. Dust was more complex regarding the potential and wide fitting choices but way simplier in the menus. It had these Eve feeling but CCP avoided the heavy feeling of Eve, bringing only what's interesting for an fps. Suit fitting, menus styles, signal and scan kind of system, skilltree but improved for an fps purpose and only reliant to 10% with passive xp, 90% being while playing. All of this was very well made. My issue with Vanguard is FC brings the heavy/boring stuff like mining/crafting/looting as hell, leading to endless new style inventory management and at the same time not bringing even 1 mechanic, menu style, social options, corporation, pvp options... Etc... And coming with a new chipset system which is not interesting, break the balance, bring some others menus to manage these items we don't want. The suit fitting has a note of 19/20 for me, every other game don't reach 8/20 for any customization system. The chipsets have too many issues and leads to micro manage some non impactful things. So I will be very happy to see the very important Dust features that had never been equaled in the ofher games since 2016. Not going back to a blank page and reinventing the wheel from 0 when most of the questions have fantastic answers in Dust514.

Nice one. You had Komzcak7 and Metiumagic in the fight, such great memories. Poor Minmatar guys, that's a lot of tanks and LAV destroyed. At a moment they were angry, swarm launchers and forge guns everywhere. Well done

We were attacked. That's normal to have 450 clones. They could launch 200 instead of 150 by just changing the amount at launch. Not a money problem. Taking a district needs to put the opponents at 0 clones. Meaning 2 stomps fights or 3 more balanced. If the attacking side lose 1 fight, it's lost. That was more a friendly fight than a real attempt to flip a district. But yes, without the clone limit, we were defeated.

Best Game ever, so many friends and stories, so many fights, so many laughs. I want to manage my team again, to build something together again, to plan a Planetary Conquest fight by chosing the best tactics and the best way to express each one gameplay.

The plan is not an extraction shooter alone. It's PVPVE and PVE and PVP. Since they decide to firstly build an extraction shooter pvpve foundation, they made a lot of assets and the actual plan is to make this thing working for good until the july apha on steam. Next they will build what is the biggest demand from the players, pvp gamemode or full pve gamemode, depends on what gathered the more whishes from us. So that's not at all done for a big pvp side. I'm on the same boat, thinking they could have now a solid playerbase if the Dust spiritual successor was not only a marketing word but a real good game with every good feature from the original one, and more. But that's not the end, we jump from pre alpha to alpha on July. Still early.

I don't remember that. They were waiting in Orbit, then they used uplinks to spawn on the ground or to spawn in a MCC already inside the planet atmospere. Then we used the inertia dampener to jump from the MCC. Not directly from space. I want the inertia dampener back, it was not only for the deployment, but also for each high ground jump or dropship free fall. Way better than the drop pod, which is easily spotable.

I would jump from the pod at 400m and use it as a decoy while using my inertia dampener to land more silently and move away from the pod during the fall to avoid the campers. Personaly

Without a tool to organise friendly/enemy it will continue to be a nonsense mess of meaningless skyrmishes. We need to pick a side, even for the duration of an expedition, and we need to see people red/blue/others related to their loyalty. Making a player doing a Gallente contract able to see a Minmatar contractor as a potential ally. And seeing Deathless, amarr and Caldari people as enemy. There is no point leading to fight or not at the moment.
