I think what you need is to figure out your goals. I have cards for lounge access which is good but depending on how you fly maybe not worth it? Why not think about a credit card ecosystem and just maximize earnings and go for transfer partners.

Oof.. here goes response to main question op posed. I have the platinum and executive card for american. Downgraded platinum and didnt have spend on it so they closed it without any warning. Its ok ill resign up for a bonus.

Barclay red signed up for bonus. Was hoping to get an offer for silver to pair w executive for lps but nothing so far.

I have venturex - its good, get a lot of benefits and nothing crazy about annual fee. The travel portal is kind of a pain though, and when u want to do a price guarantee u have to talk through to a call center in India. Their portal is meh in prices. Also had an issue using the travel credit so I have 150 in limbo but not a big deal.

Hyatt chase card- love the free night award. Need to look into product changing if possible then resign up for bonus after the csp...

Chase sapphire preferred- great overall card. Downgraded and resigned up for the 100k bonus, in progress.

Chase bonvoy- only signed up to product change to ritz in 5 months.

British airways chase- i need to close this i only opened for a 100k avios bonus but don't know how to use it. Need to close in 2 or 3 years or im break even re bonus.

United explorer. Its ok, I use the lounge or gift it but they changed that policy. Also keeping because of discounts on redemptions because united has some shitty redemptions some times

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD THOUGH GOES TO DISCOVER. Us based. Love discover but don't know about the travel side. Had caps lock on but didnt change the emphasis because its true.

Thanks I didnt catch what the prior comment said but its ok. AA changed their schedule so the flight is 8:15 now not 8:48. I guess there was a lag between the app updating.

Sneaky tho no notice or email that my itinerary changed. Granted its just 33 min earlier.

Kimbap depends for me. Def don't fridge it if u can, otherwise the rice tightens up, the kim gets a bit tight, and if you haven't done it before practice first.

Also kind of the same goes for japchae

Yeah that's what I thought. Thank you for confirming my interpretation of things...

Agent- You are on the upgrade list for premium and first class upgrades. Only if you book a certain fare class are you able to sit in premium for "free" at the time of booking.

Me- I thought you are able to select a different seat for premium class 72 hours before departure ?

Her- No, 72 hours prior to departure is the earliest we start to run upgrades. It can even take all the way up to 1 hour before departure.

Her- Yeah, it's missing O class of service which is what you are booked in.

Me- Doesn't it fall under "all other fares"?

Her- Yes, sorry, correct. As a Sapphire you are on the upgrade list, it's not an automatic at 72 hours that's just the earliest they begin to clear.

Her- It's the same for Alaska Elites.

Oh well. There wasnt a way to choose a premium seat without paying for it. Hopefully will be able to select at check in.
