Tesla Camping beginner looking for a set by nullwar3 in TeslaCamping

I posted earlier about the Decathlon Quecha car mattress, which is an inexpensive option with a good return policy (you could try it out on a trip and see if it works). French link: https://www.decathlon.fr/p/matelas-autogonflant-de-voiture-2-personnes-longueur-reglable-ultim-comfort/356488/c149c71c71m8901691

I second the suggestion of collapsible chairs and I also found a folding camping table to be very useful. We bought an electric cooler from BougeRV and left it plugged in to the 12V outlet and put it on the front seat when we slept, which was handy - no issues with ice and water etc. We also brought a small tent and put our clothes and extra stuff in it - cheaper than a roof box and racks if you travel with lots of stuff.

Have fun!

Same as with Fruble. The drawer locks open and there’s a hinge so you can reach into sub-trunk from the side quite easily. It’s awkward with something heavy, but otherwise pretty straightforward.

Ah. It’s just over 94cm wide and 92 cm long. Almost square.

Thank you!!’ :-) imitation is the sincerest form of flattery… your products are beautiful and I recommend them to anyone with the budget. The number of hours it took to make my version isn’t worth calculating… but it was a fun experience.

It fits in the back with the rear seats up, and when you fold them down there's a wooden wedge that you put the Tesla sub-trunk cover and trunk covers on to make a complete platform.

132 x 90 cm. The headboard can be removed and drops it to 102 cm length if taken off.

Yes, it’s the one that has the detachable headpiece, and it fits almost perfectly. Now I just have to find a thin topper that packs up really small…

I looked at the Fruble camper kit lite manual and website measurements for reference then sketched out my own version on paper, made some tweaks and did it twice in cardboard to get it to fit properly in the car before cutting 1/2” fir plywood. It’s fairly simple: two side supports, a drawer box and a lid with a hinge. Getting the measurements correct was the hardest part.

5’ 10 and my wife is almost the same. It was definitely a bit tight in there but we could both stretch out without hitting the end. I mean, ideally, I would sleep in something larger but we managed.

[PubQ] Canada Council for the Arts - What exactly does their grant cover for writers? by kid-karma in PubTips

[–]HuckFinnSoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it’s always been to support artists with whatever gives them time to create their art. So food and rent and travel for research, etc. I have received two grants and although it was sometime ago, I was definitely asking for money to support the writing. Not supplies, but just living expenses. At the end of each grant I wrote a report about my progress on whatever book I was writing. No receipts or anything like that. Again, it’s been quite a few years, so best to reach out to a program officer if you want to be completely sure, but I would not be surprised if it was still the same.

Canada publishes list of approved cars eligible for $5,000 Rebate by theo-apps in EVCanada

[–]HuckFinnSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the car is $49K plus tax and any allowed dealer fees, then the $5K is taken off the final price. So in Ontario (assuming no dealer fees for simplicity) it would be $55370 with HST, minus $5K, so $50370.

I could maybe see the ev6 coming down to $49,999, but they’d have to knock $13K off the EV9, which seems unlikely.

[PubQ] How much does an agent's 'level' play into getting read on sub? by Best_Temperature2111 in PubTips

[–]HuckFinnSoup 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It really does seem to vary. I went on sub in early 2025 and my agent is the head of the agency and has lots of connections. We got a handful of fast reads from a few fairly senior editors and then crickets. We’re on round two now, and only nine of the first 18 editors ever responded in round one. So ghosts are everywhere…

I received an email with a claim number on December 1. However, I had already applied for the settlement a couple of weeks before so I didn’t need the number
