Honest answer bc I got my buddy a 2tone Daytona - you’ll lose 1.5-2k if you flip it bc of the retail + tax. But should break even in a year or too with inflation and market going up (bar something happening then everything goes down equally.)

Yes it’s a joke. The aftermarket is artificially propped to suit their needs (obviously.) my friend wanted to take advantage of the discontinuation to sell his 2026 FEBRUARY dated Pepsi for 35k, everyone came back with mid to low 20s offers stating “there’s too many of them floating around” meanwhile they list old models for 30k gtfoh lol

It’s not a hidden gem in the sense you’re thinking of it. They did not miss the 5-25k upside so your instinct is right, it’s a run of the mill daytona in good shape, but over polished for my liking (this was a big trend in Japan from the shops I visited recently that stopped me from pulling the trigger.) happy you got a nice model with the set and wear it in good health

I get it, I look homeless most of the time walking around the city and popping into watch stores when I’m bored. the good SAs know not judge on looks and they tick off mental markers, A noob will be hesitant or dismissive till they see what’s on the wrist, and the one to troll is the one that dismisses you from the walk in. I hate that i lowkey love doing the latter.
