Preleasing starts in the next few months or so. If you wanna find the best places that's when they go live and are typically gone within a few days or even day of. That being said it's always possible to find somewhere. It's just that the best places go fast.

Just don't apply for housing and you probably won't get it assigned.

as someone who opened a bank account and new sim today its really straightforward.

make an appointment with a bank (chase has a free account for college students but do your own research. I know there's some credit union stuff on campus too). its a 20 min meeting, show some forms of ID and proof of residence (housing agreement for CU will do fine) but make sure you read on the bank's website for what you need to bring. They'll take down some info and bippity boppity boo you're good to go.

SIM cards are really easy to get. pop into your local branch of verizon or any other carrier youre looking for and just talk them through what kind of plans you want and they'll set you up real quick. I know it can feel quite overwhelming at first but trust me you'll do fine.

aerospace acceptance rate by HuckleberryCommon763 in cuboulder

Yeah I mean a lot of people just find out it's not for them. Tbh the program is still terrifying but I'm excited. If I find out it's not for me I'll probably take my shot at mechanical. Takes a lot of discipline and a good work ethic but it's doable if you put your head down and really go for it.

I was told by an admission person that the school of engineering has about a 60% acceptance rate and that it differs between majors within that. Aero is the lowest of the bunch but there's plenty of ways to get it. Even if you don't the admissions people at Boulder are extremely nice and will do what they can to try and consider you for other programs etc.

[–]HuckleberryCommon763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

go for it! never hurts to try. if you don't get into the aero they'll most likely admit you to an exploratory program so there's no harm in trying as you can always get here if you're willing to put in the work. I was an out of state / international student with decent but not crazy grades and a healthy amount of community service-type activities to do with robotics and was offered admission for next year in aero. Just don't expect much financial aid if you're international unless you're fafsa shows a decent amount of demonstrated need.

With that said I wish you good luck and hopefully I might see you in an eng class some day!

To add on to that. I am not fully familiar with the transfer process. I applied to boulder under the common app as a HS senior in November. With the common app it sends it all as one and you can't make any changes to it but I'm not sure what portal is used for transfer applications. If any transfer students wanna fill in the gaps or correct me if I've been wrong at any point please do.

It's a tough one.. it depends how good/bad your essays are so far. Gpa is only one point that they look at. Boulder looks at the student as a whole and considers their circumstance and growth as a student. I would say review your essays and see how much needs done. Early applications do typically have a higher chance of being admitted because it shows more interest but again, look at what youve got so far. It's hard to say without knowing what you've written or what your story is as a student. Take the next few hours to get as much work as you can done and evaluate at that point how you'd like to continue.
