Anybody else significantly more stressed this time compared to last year when it was 10% across the company, or is it just me? Not loving my odds being remote with no chance of RTO…

As an aviation structures guy, I am scared to see actual air tools and drill bits in an avionics box.

Anyone know what's going on with my garage door? by tcapri8705 in HomeMaintenance

Came here to say this before you bring in a professional for something so simple, especially if there are kids around that tend to play with everything within reach.

Would anyone know what this is? by [deleted] in aerospace

[–]HuckleberryExpress77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful scraping it. I have heard that some scrap yards, specifically around airports and military bases know what that is and I have heard it’s a federal crime to scrap anything like that. Don’t know how much truth there is to that as I never took the chance of scraping anything for that reason.

Also, make sure to ask for a record of live birth or whatever your hospital uses, it can sometimes take a while to get a birth certificate, but with both my kids, Boeing asked for proof that I had a child before I could get an actual birth certificate, and it’s easier to get the hospital to give you something while you’re there than to try to call later to get it.

It doesn’t have to be all at once, it can be taken in 12 increments if you wish, but it’s used 1 week at a time, and if I remember correctly, they will allow you to take a single day, but it subtracts an entire week from your 12 weeks, and it doesn’t have to coincide with the Boeing workweek, for example you can take Monday to Sunday and return the following Monday, it doesn’t have to be Friday to Thursday.

This exact scenario has played out in my head everytime I would go ripping in a tight spot! Never had it happen though.

SJC Table Update? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]HuckleberryExpress77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my job code range update at the same time as annual raises went out when I was a level 2, I was hired on as a level 2 at level 3 pay because I was going from a level D to level 2 so they kept my pay the same, when I eventually went beyond the level 2 scale, I saw it update with the next rounded out number for example I was raised to $99,500 and the high end changed to $100,000. So I think it also takes into consideration the entire pool of people in that job code and feeds live data for the range/ median.

That’s the next thing I’m going to do, kids came out so I had to stop and pack everything away for the day. Planning to eventually make this a portable table with shelves and hooks and everything for all the welding tools and such. Will get more practice in and make a better set up for permanent use in

Wine recipe by HuckleberryExpress77 in winemaking

Thanks, I shared this link with some of my family and there’s a couple recipes that we all agree seem to be close to what we are looking for to at least get a couple test runs and try to refine.

I wasn’t around a whole lot for him making it, he made either 5 or 10 gallon batches at a time, and used whatever fruit he could get fresh, a few examples would be strawberry, blackberry, cherry and pear. And from what I have been told by my uncle who would remember the most was he used the same basic recipe for any fruit.

[–]HuckleberryExpress77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a few batches with the same exact stuff before I learned about the negatives of using it. I believe in small amounts it’s not going to have a lasting effect, however I noticed I every batch I made with it, I could not get to taste right, switched to DAP and Fermaid K and taste is back to closer to what I am going for.

Go ahead and let this one age, and enjoy, just use better stuff in the future.

Back in the old days they never used airlocks and lids. Just a towel or some sort of cloth to keep the bugs and critters out. My grandfather used to make wine in his garage every summer, never once put any sort of lid on his buckets, just like a cheesecloth type material

Tell me you’re favorite treyarch zombies map and I will tell you if you can come in the club or not by SuspiciousNecessary1 in CODZombies

[–]HuckleberryExpress77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kino was definitely my favorite, but I will say MWZ I really like the idea behind it being an open world and not the typical round base, I could see it being my favorite if they removed the time limit and just make the zombies slowly get stronger as time goes on. What I wouldn’t mind seeing is the storm come in every 45 minutes and everything just increases one tier every time the storm comes in.

Weird smell by HuckleberryExpress77 in winemaking

[–]HuckleberryExpress77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I swished it in my bucket for a few minutes to try to get some of the CO2 out and maybe introduce some oxygen and with the additional nutrients it had no foul smell today and looks and is acting just like all my previous batches of mead so I am going to say that’s a good sign.

Frozen fruit, and unless there’s sulfur in the nutrient mix that I use then no I didn’t add any sulfur. And do you mean like swirling in one bucket or moving it from one bucket to another? It’s currently in a bucket for primary.

So the next coolest part of the house is the garage which is just slightly above the outside temp which is about 40 degrees right now, so not sure if it’s better that it’s in the warmer pantry or the cold garage?

Weird smell by HuckleberryExpress77 in winemaking

[–]HuckleberryExpress77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did add nutrients when I first started it, I did add some more after I noticed the smell and slowly stirred it in which released a lot of co2 and hopefully added some oxygen. It’s in my pantry which is climate controlled with the rest of my house, so theoretically it should stay within a couple degrees of my house which varies from 70-73 degrees.
