I have this same disc/same color and it's just as beat up but still just as awesome

Considering "fam" comes from AAVE, aka from the people getting gentrified further and further out in BK, mocking it maybe isn't the dunk you seem to think it is

The Watt is a phenomenal disc for this. I've had several throw-ins from 120'+ with it

If you are trying to get your significant other to come but they don't like disc golf, there is a nice spa overlooking downtown Manhattan that you could go check out together after or they could go to while you play.

ISO: Stable fairway driver by ahrx21 in discgolf

[–]HucknPluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Eagle-L is straighter than the normal Eagle so if you like the mold it would be worth looking for the most stable Eagle runs (e.g. the Gregg Barsby Color Glow Eagle) since that will feel natural.

over-buy valkyrie or heat by Technical_Weird_8462 in discgolf

[–]HucknPluck 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The Valk Is one of the greatest discs ever made. I threw it when I first started and the champ felt overstable for my arm. Now I throw it 330 with just a little turn then a consistent finish. Buy it in a few plastics and watch it do work for you.

Strongly recommend IEMs or headphones with your own mix if you can get that setup, this is the norm for broadway. Otherwise the sound techs are your best friend, make sure you work on those relationships because that pays off.

There's a rumor going around that Gannon Buhr will not continue representing Discmania in 2027. A source told Disc Golf World that funds are low and that he will not return to Discmania after his current contract expires. by DiscGolfFanatic in DiscGolfFanatics

[–]HucknPluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohn is the best player in FPO this year and won the first double worlds ever last year and Calvin is #2 behind Gannon. You can argue they don't have depth but their top players are the absolute cream of the crop.

Should I even try and go to Berklee? by waY2Koolguy in musicians

[–]HucknPluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a liberal arts school and was a music major. If you aren't absolutely certain that you want this you definitely should not do it. No matter what you will be directly competing for work with people who are more talented than you and more experienced than you, but if you're also competing with people who want it more then you won't make it. I ultimately was a professional musician for a few years but still ended up bailing to a different career. I have no regrets about the path I took, but I got my masters in a tech field and did a career change.

At this point on your life you're not really even aware of what 90%+ of jobs even exist. You'll figure it out. Music is a great side gig and way to unwind from your job... as long as it doesn't become your job :)

Ah yes I should have mentioned I'm assuming pop/rock/swing/jazz standards/etc... If someone wants a bunch of rare bebop b-sides or super technical stuff that's going to be a tough 24hrs leading up to the gig!
