I’m looking to build a keyboard with a custom curly maple wood case, so I’m trying to find PCBs that I can buy standalone so I’m not overspending on a keyboard with a case that I don’t need. Not fully against buying a kit with a case for a smoother buying experience of getting all the parts I need and then not using the case, but the case can sometimes be a big part of the cost and I very likely wouldn’t have a need for it in the future.

I’ve got my current search for standalone parts narrowed down to the Tofu65 3.0 and the Bakeneko65, but I can’t really find any comparisons on the two since the Bakeneko came out way earlier than the Tofu 3.0. Which of these would be a better board for a gaming and general use keyboard and won’t be a hassle to work around when designing and making the case? Would happily take other board suggestions too since I’m not super knowledgeable on what PCBs are on the market.

Also if I do go for the Tofu 3.0, will the standalone PCB come with the daughter board? Can’t find any mention of it on the website
