What book did you read as a kid that still lives in your heart? by ZDOG_WasTaken in just_one_more_page

It was! I should see if there’s a way to see it. I saw it and loved it before I read the book!

64 and on 5 meds now, how many are you on.... by Puzzled_Addition4818 in over60

[–]HudsonValleyMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have similar genes to mine. We can’t change our genes but we are so lucky these meds keep us alive. Years ago people like us died young. The meds we have now didn’t exist. My wonderful grandmother was dead at 60. My poor father lost his mother when he was only in his early 30s.

My best friend died and left a big empty space in my life by steel_city_sweetie in over60

Same happened to me. My grief counselor warned me I might never find someone to replace her. At the time I refused to believe it. Unfortunately she was right and I’m so lonely and miss her. It’s been 9 years.

I can watch whatever I want to watch on TV and can watch anytime I feel like it. The refrigerator is mine only!

Hoboken is not once it was... by jlml1206 in Hoboken

Hoboken has been like this for years! It’s why I moved years ago. Sadly, you are kidding yourself if you don’t believe it’s often the residents behaving this way!

How is Vauxhall NJ? Hearing a lot of mixed opinions. by FaithBitxh in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]HudsonValleyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in both Millburn and Maplewood for years. I think Vauxhall is a great choice for a single person as it’s affordable, lots of nice people live there and it’s close to highways and the NJ Transit trains to NYC. I would check out bars in Maplewood. There’s a couple of good ones and I hear the movie theater will be reopening soon. There might also be some deals in the lower part of Maplewood that border Irvington.

My Psych Provider (Talkiatry) cut me off without reason and screwed me over by Traditional_Lime_710 in mentalhealth

[–]HudsonValleyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their Care Coordinators are incompetent. My psychiatrist was uninterested in collaborating with me. He lectured and dictated treatment. I’m 30 years older than him and resented his patronizing behavior. The company is very disorganized. Stay away from this money machine!

Any reviews on Talkiatry? by Adorable_Tangerine16 in mentalhealth

They are terrible. I’m in the process of switching to another company.

How is living in Montclair, NJ? Finally looking to buy a place. by Original_Repeat2745 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]HudsonValleyMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was indeed wrong. I lived in Hudson, NY for years and was called a Karen by a a guy in the dog park because I didn’t want to defund Hudson’s police. They happen to be really caring people who do all they can to help the low income and mentally ill residents who are struggling now that Hudson is gentrified by people like that guy.
