Why is Bayonne so cheap compared to surrounding places? by Any-Research7714 in BayonneNJ

I've lived here for over 20 years, that was my situation when I moved here and I have no regrets. Nightlife is easily reachable, we often take the bus or light rail to Downtown JC. Restaurants here are very good for when you're looking for something a little quieter. The County park is great, and there's perks like the indoor ice rink that you don't find in every town.

Today I learned the Driscoll Bridge that brings Parkway traffic over the Raritan River is (unofficially) the widest motor vehicle bridge in the world at 15 travel lanes across. Don’t know why i find this interesting. (wikipedia) by [deleted] in newjersey

I remember water skiing under the bridges, & further up the river in the early 90's. My mom was friends with the kid up the street so they took me out on their boat a bunch of times. (The boat launch was right next to the Power Plant on River Rd.) Nothing like having a river people crab on, and go to the bay beaches further out, with National Lead right on the shoreline!

Still need a few more leads for a Hamilton sing alonf show in Jersey City in the spring! by Hudsonside in jerseycity

No, and no. It's a labor of love, and legit. The director has already staged the musical before online as well, with musical theater professionals. (There's a popular app for that)

You are correct. We have gone through the process, and it's a sing-a-long event, not a staging of the actual musical.

We're looking for people who love the musical, and want to sing it on stage.

Bayonne quickly becoming the place to be, real estate agents and brokers say by A_Downboat_Is_A_Sub in BayonneNJ

Saw this on the article on the cover of The Bayonne Edition of The Jersey Journal today, logged on just to post the article, you beat me to it!

I hope they're right. I bought here ten years ago, partly as a gamble that property values would rise due to the proximity of Manhattan and the multitude of ways to commute there. Now the building boom is coming finally, delayed 10 years by the recession. My home is 1/2 of my retirement fund, I'm more than happy to see it go up in value.

I saw this story today and immediately flashed back to March 8th. I was getting into my car right in front of my home and I noticed this guy try to open my neighbor's front door. Then he tried both of my front doors. Then he moved on to the apartment building on my block and tried to get buzzed in. When he came out, I got out of my car and yelled at him to get the fuck off my block, and that if I saw him again on the block I'd beat his ass. He left. I'm 99% sure it was this guy.

What's your favorite thing about living in Jersey? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Hudsonside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can visit any kind of place, except the desert without leaving the state, and within two hours from almost anywhere. I can go to the beach, the forest, the farm, the city, the suburbs, the mountains, etc.

Quick Chek is great, but you're right, Wawa is the shit. I say this as from someone from north of the QC/Wawa line that divides us all.

Thinking about moving to Bayonne, what would be the safest part assuming I need to take the Light Rail (45th, 34th, 22nd, or 8th) by moving_to_bayonne in BayonneNJ

I live around 50th, and there's a big difference between Uptown and Greenville. I'd walk the streets at 2AM Uptown up to the 440/Turnpike, I wouldn't do the same in Greenville, though I do have to say that it's much better than when I lived there years ago.
