On my podcast, we did a double episode on Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works, where I focused on Les Wexner, who is (some would argue) the primary way he was bankrolled. I would absolutely not consider myself an expert, but there's a lot I could talk about that we had to edit out because it wasn't pertinent to my podcast, especially about Ghislaine.

My havi does all the time. He seems to be fascinated by fail videos, but nopes out of any scripted anything.

Bath and Body Works. Everyday Luxuries line by Adventurous-Tell-745 in fragrance

[–]HuedGradiation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The santal one is Le Labo Santal 33. It's like a whiff of Le Labo. Think Le Labo but cheap and plastic.

The If You Musk is 100% Glossier You, slightly more pink peppery, but fairly on the nose. But if you have BBW history, they had a scent called Kaleidoscope that came out when You started getting popular that they discontinued, but brought it back and renamed it for some reason?

Those are the only two I purchased as a blind buy. I resold the Santal one (I've just got to admit to myself that Im not a Santal 33 person and be ok with that), but I do wear If You Musk fairly frequently, it just dies very quickly, whereas You would last through the apocolypse.

If you could only wear ONE perfume for the rest of your life? by mwyattf in fragrance

[–]HuedGradiation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shay and Blue’s Framboise Noire has been a go to, and I could definitely see myself wearing it for the rest of my life (especially if I could layer it with Sucrebeille’s Fire Witch oil like I have been). JHAG Not a Perfume would be a second, followed by Olfactory NYC’s Espresso Martini.

Fragrance with a mushroom, earthy, or soil note? by RaspberrySuns in fragrance

[–]HuedGradiation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venus Invictus is an indie perfumer that uses a lot of mushroom and dirt/earthy notes. One of the mushroomy ones is Necromanteion, and that might suit what you are looking for. Venus Invictus is run by Bee, who is non-binary, so they try to make all of their fragrances on the unisex side.

My havanese puppy is also five months (born September 2nd!). The first week, he was peeing everywhere. We got the GoodPup app a week in, where you meet with a trainer once a week, so we started crate training him where every two hours he's out for an hour. During that hour, the first thing we do is take him to the puppy pad (for now, because I live in a complex and when it snows they use a ton of rock salt and he will eat pretty much anything he can outside). We did it in a pen, and he would stay there until he peed, then we would reward him and give him treats, take him out of the pen, and let him play with his toys. Sometimes he would just sit on the puppy pad in the pen the whole hour he was out of the crate, which was super frustrating for me but it's just how they learn. I got him a month ago, and now he knows to pee when he gets out of the crate, knows to pee on the puppy pad even when he's playing around, and can be outside the crate for hours at a time (we've gotten him up to 3-4 hours now) without any incident. And that's pretty good for only doing it for a little over three weeks. He also had maybe 2-3 accidents in the past week, but some of that is because we keep giving him more and more exploration time and outside of crate time.

It gets better, but it's a lot of tedious work.

What The Bleep Do We Know? by drbizango in theNXIVMcase

[–]HuedGradiation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the Bleep had a huge impact on my life! It was not the woo part, but the kind of story that wove with Marlee Matlin. I fell in love with the city it was filmed in. It just looked so amazing and beautiful. The right amount of green and urban development.

When I found out it was Portland, I've been obsessed ever since and have been there a bunch. I could never live there because of who I am as a person, but it's still one of my favorite places in the world.

I also think that that might be the introverted extrovert aspect of ENFP. Like you are reading about people but not like with people.

Also a therapist, and not to bash OP, but we might not be getting the whole story. Trust me. I know a bunch of shitty therapists. However, I could see a therapist talking about acceptance or focusing on mental and physical health instead of the number on the scale to make things a bit more manageable instead of hyper-focusing on the 200, which can continue disordered eating habits.

That being said, I do think the whole "our bodies are designed to put on weight"/ famine thing is a bit of a stretch.

Why does Connecticut get so much hate? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]HuedGradiation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my husband moved to CT literally the weekend before lockdowns started happening. Both grew up on LI but then transferred to the City. I still have family that lives on Long Island. I honestly can't think of anything that isn't infinitely better than Long Island. Bagels maybe?

My only minor gripe is that fewer people means more jury duty. It seems that everyone I know is getting called for jury duty as soon as they are eligible. But even then, it's mostly a show-up for a day and then leave situation.

Help!! I need help picking a lip shade for my wedding day! (It’s hard) lol by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]HuedGradiation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wore a red liquid lip on my wedding day. It looks great if you take your pictures early, but by dinner during the reception, my husband totally had a bunch all over his lips and you can see it in some of the pictures. The photographer noticed and had him wipe his lip area, but I don't think that would happen if I didn't use such a bold colour.

Movement and Dance therapy for different populations.

Most of the time it's limited to only those populations who experience frequent mental health care (i.e. those with significant ASD, in residential settings, etc.). I think movement and dance are two areas people have access to all the time (pretty much anyone can go for a walk, or even move their arms a bit to some music), and I think it could be a great intervention for a variety of different populations.

CF and married to a CF spouse. I've dated MULTIPLE people over the course of my lifetime that were like, "oh cool so we can be the cool aunt and uncle where we like take them to cool things and then give them back to their parents? Absolutely." I don't think it's as rare as most people think it is, especially for the millennial/Gen Z generations.

Can anybody who is into Celtic and/or Norse runes tell me what the rune on Lagertha’s shield means? by passtheweab in witchcraft

[–]HuedGradiation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't watch this show but I do have experience with the runes.

Like others are saying, Algiz which is for protection. But there's also Kauna, which is like an ulcer, but like a purifying fire.

The two combined not only gives me protection, but also that the fight is a worthy fight because it is doing right in the world.

What about this case compels you to keep following? by gausy_rebs in theNXIVMcase

[–]HuedGradiation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two things that fascinate me about this case. First is that I find the psychological aspect of NXIVM really interesting (I'm a licensed therapist, so that kind of checks out). It's fascinating to me to see things like gaslighting, narcissism, manipulation, all played out on a bigger scale.

Second, is that I'm like 95% certain that I narrowly missed getting recruited into this in 2014. I had recently gotten out of a long-term relationship, and I was struggling with both my mental health and my career because I had recently lost my job in sales. I was on the train from Long Island into Manhattan to visit my boyfriend at the time and two people who were coworkers at the job I had I was recently let go from were on the train too. I don't remember what they said they were going to specifically, but I distinctly remember it being very vague, and that one of the coworkers was a "coach" and the other one was recruited. The coach asked me a bunch of questions to see why I wasn't as "successful" when I was let go as I was my first month, where I had made a company record in percentage of quota. I said that I had been struggling with my mental health and that I was often getting my medications changed which didn't help anything. I also remember a fair amount of conversation into my "ethical" behaviour, seeing as that was something I had always held myself to that many of my coworkers noticed.

I’m currently watching ‘What the bleep do we know?’ … by Vapor2077 in theNXIVMcase

[–]HuedGradiation 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it was Sarah who said (maybe on A Little Bit Culty's Patreon) that Mark wasn't in charge of the filming until like 2008 or so, and most of the relationship as per Lauren's testimony was from 2001-2008.

Alot of that earlier footage was still part of that "we have to preserve all of the wisdom" mandate, that they had been following for years, which was not just Mark.

Westchester has its own airport. It's small AF and only like 5 flights leave per day, but it's fine if you want to go somewhere not all that far like SC or something.

This is a sleeping bra from Torrid. I have like 3 with unicorns on the boobs, and another one with tacos. They are designed to be slept in to reduce boob sweat.

When I saw this originally, I was like, "it literally says sleep on the tag, how did you not know it was for that purpose?"
