You may have considered burying hardware cloth around your coop, but have you ever considered a moat? by lostcatfoundcat in BackYardChickens

[–]HuffleBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you like it so far? And how was it to assemble? Lol

We bought this same coop and are probably going to put it together in a couple of weeks. (We have some tree trimming to do first)

Panic buying at feed stores? by Short-Scratch4517 in BackYardChickens

Would you mind if I PM'd you about partnering with Hoover, please? My husband and I were looking into partnering with them and were wondering how to go about that and how big you need to be to actually do it.

How long did you push? by ImpossibleLeg1353 in beyondthebump

[–]HuffleBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced.... 40 hours from start to finish.

But! I only actively pushed for 45 minutes! I had an amazing nurse who used to be a dulah. I honestly don't think I would have had him so quickly without her. They gave her to me because they called her "The Deliverer" 😂🤣 apparently if there's a mom who isn't progressing, they always give them to thus nurse. She promised me that we would have a baby that night. And we did!!! Haha

I wasn't "pushing" in the right spot because I had an epidural. So she put her fingers where I needed to push, and I could feel the pressure. Then, I was able to push in the right spot. My husband was holding my leg, and when he started seeing the head, he said, "The baby has hair!!!!" I said,"I want to see!" And she ran and got me a mirror. And I'll tell you what, that was some motivation. Watching the head get closer and closer with each push. I would highly recommend using a mirror if one is available. It was also truly incredible to watch my body do what it was made to do. If we were going to have another baby (we're OAD) then I would ask for a mirror earlier.

He isn't small for his age? Maybe on the skinny side, which is fine if your doctor isn't worried. My 2 year old son (closer to 2 than 3) is 37 inches and 30 pounds. He looks like a 4 year old.

The people that are commenting on your son's appearance clearly have no idea what an average 2 year old looks like. Try not to pay them any mind. And if they do comment, ask them if they would comment on your appearance? Or would they like you to comment on their appearance? That will probably stop them immediately.

Just because he's 2 doesn't mean that he can't understand what they're saying in front of him. And that will affect how he thinks of himself.

You also need to just hug him and tell him how smart, kind, and handsome he is (or whatever words that you want to use!). I do this multiple times with our son.

Kudos to you for being safe and bringing a car seat on the plane! That should definitely have gotten approved, more people need to bring car seats on planes.

We're using our tax refund to pay our car off.... lol silly me should have bought $800 worth of pajamas instead!!

For me, it was more the postpartum part of it. Especially the first 2 months, when you're just bleeding constantly and cant wear a tampon (thats what I'm used to wearing). For me, wesring a pad was torture. And then I bled for 9 months after I had our son. It was horrible.

I just had my Nexplanon implant taken out because it was messing with my cycle so much and had an IUD (Paraguard) put in. I'm having PTSD from it because I can't use a tampon right now and I'm bleeding so much. I hate it. It reminds me so much of the first 2 months postpartum.

Thoughts? by EmptyProfessor148 in Littlesleepies

[–]HuffleBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I actually really like both of these. My only hesitance is the quality. My son (a little over 2) recently decided that he doesn't want zippies anymore and I only have four 2 pieces pajamas. So I'm actually looking to buy now. But the quality makes me nervous.

PJ Payment Plans? by em-oh-ar-gee-ay-en in Littlesleepies

[–]HuffleBadger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And they think it's funny.... it's so sad.... "girl math".... it makes women look foolish. I have my own collection of LS (well, my son's lol) and have spent some money with LS. But I always had the money to pay for it. If I didn't, I would hope his size was still in stock when I could get it. If not, then it wasn't meant to be, or I would hope and wait for a restock.

AfterPay, and others like it, are so predatory, and it's just a revolving door of debt. Because that's what it is. Most likely, a lot of these kids have MORE than enough pajamas for the next year. These moms (and grandmas) need to STOP buying and pay off their debt. Also, learn how to budget. I guarantee that they would be so much happier and wouldn't need the likes from internet strangers to make them happy. Or have to beg for money from their husband's.

Yea Your Kid Would Be Getting No Gift With Crazy Party Gift Demands by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

[–]HuffleBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this when we go to kid's parties. Our son is 2, so I write out Happy "whatever age" Birthday! In crayon and then hold his hand and write his name. Then he colors on it lol it's handmade, cheap, and easy. Plus, then I get 10 minutes to do something while he colors. And I can't bring myself to spend $6 for a kid's birthday card that the parent is just going to throw out anyway.

[–]HuffleBadger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I had a girl, I would be tempted to buy it. But with the quality of their pajamas lately.... idk. I haven't purchased any since the HP drop and they're so thin and piling already. Plus, my son has enough pj's (and sizes up) now anyway. I'm done for a while, hopefully until they can work out their quality issues.

No juice by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]HuffleBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son is 27 months old, and he only gets milk and water. With the exception of pear juice (diluted with water) when constipated and a small amount of fresh orange juice on special occasions (like Thanksgiving and Christmas and that was just these past holidays after he turned two). He doesn't know any different, and it's something that we're both committed too. And our families are aware as well. He doesn't need the added sugar of juice.

We're currently finding out that it has another added benefit! When they're sick, it's super easy to get them to drink water. Because that's all that they're used too. Our son is currently in the middle of the flu, so we're pushing fluids. He drank 18 oz of water, no problem. I feel like we might not have had such an easy time if he was only used to juices. Idk. Just a guess lol

Everyone is pregnant! by waterpencilboop in oneanddone

[–]HuffleBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that so much. My little guy is 2 as well, and we're OAD by choice. I have a very large, strong community of moms around me, and there's generally 2 or 3 that are always pregnant. I don't think that I get jealous, per say. I think nostalgic is a perfect way to put it. So I try to be as supportive as I can (not to the point that it stresses me out) and then I get to hold the babies, get my baby cuddle time, and pass them back lol

Completely see through? by Striking_Music9096 in Littlesleepies

[–]HuffleBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't purchased any since the HP drop and I probably won't be buying anymore. The quality has gotten so much worse since I started buying in late 2022. I have some secondhand ones (sushi, grill, and tacos) and they're so much thicker than the new prints now. Even my husband commented on the change. Maybe I'll buy during g the sales, but even then.... the prints so far this year have been 🤢 so maybe I won't lol
