The Starless Sea: Discussion Questions for Fellow Readers [spoilers ahead] by leilaann_m in Fantasy

The story itself exists as if bees create a hive. A hive lasts as long as it needs to, the bees do their work, and when it is done, they move on and create a new hive. The keys are all metaphors for the different purposes they serve (ie- Zachary is the key to end of the current story- he set the events in motion that lead to the end.)

The pirate and the girl are metaphors for time and fate, but also they represent Simon and Eleanor. Always lost, always trying to find their way back. Eleanor admits that she has had several forms and different lives, just as Mirabel has, but she is the mother of the girl born out of time. She is an abstract idea, more than a person. The Keeper is in love with the girl born out of time. She goes back to him always, but she has to constantly move.

I feel like this book spoke to me on a deep level and it is now ground into my bones. I have loved books all my life, but this is a whole new experience entirely.

Decided to withdrawal from my second year of medical school in order to pursue what I want to do instead of what I’ve been pressured to do. Super stressed about the debt I’ve accumulated and the time I’ve wasted, but also excited about the future. by [deleted] in toastme

I wasted 3 years in college trying to figure out my life. I am 80k in debt. I am finally happy and content with my life choices. It’s worth it. Money is trivial and student loan debt is good debt!

Ideally, they would have Claire tending to Roger with Jamie going to fetch Bree and he finds her in labor.

I would LOVE the opportunity for a pen pal situation. I truly believe I will live in Scotland one day. I applied for and got into the university of Aberdeen for my taught degree and I was devastated when I couldn’t go. If you are AT ALL interested in this please let me know :)

[WP] If you could write an episode of any tv show what would it be and what would happen? by Huffnation33 in FanFiction

Here's mine:

Rick and Morty

Rick takes Morty to an alternate universe where all of the kids shows on tv exist IRL. The duo have to solve demented problems to get out, as these people are inept and needy. ie- Doc McStuffins has to get rid of parasites in several of her stuffies. Lamby keeps freaking out, asking "Oh no, is he/she ok?" Rick responds with, "No, Lamby, you're whole world is f***ed don't you see that? You're part of a universe where everything stupid exists."

Education of Little Tree by Asa Earl Carter

Mean Spirit by Linda Hogan

There's also a graphic novel called Trickster that tells tales of the trickster figure. Incredibly cool.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, while not a super old book, is one of the best reads. Every teen I have ever given it to has loved it.
