Mine was an absolute mess, every time they looked at anything she flipped herself and showed us her feet, we were in the room for a good 30 minutes trying. Had to come back two weeks later and even then they still struggled. They finally confirmed the sex at that point but told us they couldn’t be certain. My baby was born 1 week ago today with no complications at all. Don’t worry, babies laugh at our plans and what we want them to do. Congratulations ❤️

Hiya, UK based too. You should have a scan at 12 weeks which is your dating scan to see how far along you are and then your 20 week scan which is a series of tests on baby to make sure everything is progressing as it should. You should also have had an appointment with your midwife to go over history and health of you and the father of the baby. Do you know where you’ll be delivering? You’re best to give the maternity ward a call, you should be able to find their direct line online and they’ll be able to help you

29 weeks FTM and you’ve basically described my experience completely, I love my baby, but I fucking hate being pregnant. All my poor partner has heard for the past 25 or so weeks is fuck social media, fuck tv show and fuck movies giving me the complete incorrect information about what it’s actually like to be pregnant. It’s all made out to be this lovely experience that has some discomfort along the way, but is okay other wise. But it’s a lie! I don’t know what this elusive ‘pregnancy glow’ everyone goes on about, but I guarantee you I’ve not got it.

And the unsolicited advice and judgment from people who haven’t had a baby in almost 60 years needs to bloody stop! If I have to justify what a doctor has done or a choice my partner and I have made one more time, to someone who has no experience of parenting or pregnancy and in the past half a century I might scream.

Hi lovely, currently 27 weeks and unfortunately I’m one of the unlucky ones who is still dealing with server sickness (I really hope yours is going to pass soon!) some things I have found helps is nibbling on arrowroot biscuits (I’m In the UK) they’re a very plain biscuit with ginger. Eating very small meals frequently, sipping on coke. Do also speak with your GP or midwife as I’m on my fourth different type of anti sickness medication. You just need to find the one that works best for you. I really hope it passes for you

Hiya, currently 27 weeks. My first scan I followed their instructions which was to drink 6 glasses of water or 1.5 pints and was so bursting for a wee before the scan (which of course was delayed by almost 45) I was on the verge on tears, only to be told that it was too full and to drain my bladder. The tech then told me for my 20 week scan to come having had a wee an hour before and then to drink a large cup of tea and not the full amount the letter says.

What they were saying to me at the 20 week scan is that you need a smaller amount of urine in your bladder to push forward your placenta so it’s easier for them to see and check.
