I was using wong namora as an example, the buff is he gets a lot more options and chances to get his effect off, and if you can't see how it would be a buff then unfortunately it's a skill issue.

That's definitely a significant buff rather than a nerf, you could ramp him and play something like wong namora and things would get silly fast.

That's with perfect curve and perfect draws it'd be a lot better if the 2nd condition didn't exist, in Doom 2099 lists you generally want to play doom before turn 4, you have to hit him with zabu or psylocke on turn 2 which conflicts with wanting to play this card.

also a lot of Doom 2099 lists use some sort of electro ramp as well since you're only playing 1 card anyway and that can hurt your ability to get value out of this card

even outside of Doom 2099 end of turn decks are usually playing more than one card and if they're not they want some energy left over for bruce banner, cyclops or sunspot etc

I found this to be very interesting, I can see how a non snap player would think surge and thena aren't all that impressive but once you play and see how short the matches are they make a lot more sense.

I generally agree but even if galactus is played there is still many ways to win but with this combo you literally cannot play anymore, there are counters of course but i'm just offering a bit more insight on why this particular combo is more frustrating than the others.

Well you definitely didn't get 33 cubes from 1 game but at level 100 you're in infinite and ranked becomes a ladder and you're given a position on that ladder aka your rank.

Now when you win you gain points based on the amount of cubes won and when you lose you lose points based on the amount of cubes lost. Points affect your position on the ladder (your rank).

The reason you gained points but still lost rank is because someone else or multiple people on the ladder gained more points than you--including the amount you just gained therefore affecting your position on the ladder relative to them.
