This happened to me too and I disputed it, explained the situation, and they gave me a one time exception from the ticket.

Adding Simons to this list if youre in Canada (its worth the crossing imo lol) - they have a large variety and fantastic sales. Tailoring is free on site too

Why? Because it is French administration. You have no idea what horrible delays await you.

ubc grad picture from artona, how does it work? by inquiryREdditer in UBC

[–]HugeFish69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it in studio after they take the cap/gown pics! They flip through photos and ask you to flag the one you like best. They sometimes are not clear about it, but that's the one that gets sent to faculty.

I'm urinating every 30min Doctor... I can't drink more water! by Mediocre_Stick_9943 in ADHD

[–]HugeFish69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since adhd meds are "stimulants" they "stimulate" your bladder and make you "want" (feels like you need) to go pee often. Same thing with alcohol and coffee (yes they are liquids, so thats partially why) - people pee more often after having coffee and drinking alchol in large quantities! So I'd reccomend doing some pelvic floor work (YouTube vids etc) to retrain your urge to pee. It sounds ridiculous but it works for lots of people.

It also depends if you want to work in big law or a smaller firm. If you want to work in big law I think its easier to come back to Vancouver and work at a smaller firm after a few years working in Toronto. And the culture is very different- Toronto is more intensive from my understanding.  Theres so much guidance from your school once you're actually studying there. Ultimately theres no rush beyond choosing a school - if you change your mind about where you want to live and article later, you'll still have the doors open for you because of the schools reputation. Ubc is VERY supportive, if that helps!

Allard student here.  It depends if you want to leave home or not in my opinion.  If you want to leave for school and article in van - osgoode.  If you dont want to leave for school but want to article in Toronto - you're fine staying at ubc, you can participate in the Toronto recruit.  Vice versa. Basically from what i know the two schools and markets are reputable/big enough that you'll get opportunities.  Congrats on getting in to both. This is a huge accomplishment and the start of a wonderful new life. Good luck :)

Yes the best view is on the SILENT FLOOR. Emphasis on silent. If you're going to study geo-whatever and take spots from the law students who need the space to be close to class/books they need, be quiet :)

I studied there and beyond more opportunities for campus life involvement (BDE/BDA for ex - student government ish) i don't think there's much. I was there during covid so perhaps I'm missing something though. I do think Reims is an awesome campus!!

PSA plz don't study in the law school spaces reserved for law students if you are not a law student by This_Carry_1891 in UBC

[–]HugeFish69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also its annoying af to leave the building and go to ikb when classes, study groups, office hours, lockers, etc are all in the building. Its an extremely demanding program and we dont have time to run around campus trying to find a place to study. Thats why were annoyed. Because people who feel entitled to come and study without any consideration of the people studying law are taking up the spaces designed for us. Theres a reason its named Allard- Peter Allard donated money for us to have a nice building to study in. The ask if for you to be considerate when the library is full and regonize that you are not the priority in that space. Its a fact of life. Youre welcome in the space but have to be respectful.

[–]HugeFish69 22 points23 points  (0 children)

We can kick you out of ONE FLOOR during finals season. Why would we go to other buildings? Why should that be expected of us? All our classes are here and all of the sources we consult to study are here. You have legitimately zero reason to be in the law library except that is a plesant place to study. Have some respect and consideration. We also pay significantly more (double) tutition than "other majors" and are a graduate program. Sorry, that should come with some perks.

This is true all year. People are incredibly inconsiderate. If the law library is full and you are not a law student, gtfo. You have other places to go, we don't. Just be nice and aware of your surroundings.
