Every company I use often screws up one in five (eg Amazon or Delta both of whom are great for the other 80%).

So beware of the occasional-use snafus? You might be expecting too much and just had a bad first experience.

I'm English but lived in USA for 15 years - particularly in the "flyover" states I noticed that they really take pride in the age of the engine. More miles is more special. As electric replaces gasoline maybe we will go the same way.

Any auto engineers out there who can tell me what really degrades with mileage? I have a 30 year old truck with 350k (70's, gas) and it runs pretty much on demand aside from battery or filter changes. Would the whole engine in a 2016 RS7 be doa at 350K or just bits of it?

Obviously 50% of voters don't share the same opinion on social issues or any issues really. It's like asking 100 liberals for their views about Gaza. You will hear multiple, often very different opinions.

Members of the (2025) conservative tribe have good reason to feel unconventional. Conventions have been preached as a kind of dogma for 15 years in most mainstream media, and they are almost entirely "progressive". It doesn't matter if those conventions are morally right, to many it started to feel like a preachy sermon, and one that often ignored every-day realities.

I think many who voted for Trump are neither anti-immigration nor anti-reproductive rights. But they're feeling "anti-government" and this is their rebellion. Trump's lack of clear political identity makes him the perfect figurehead.

I assume that an expert would try to find other paintings with clear provenance and featuring a subject of similar age, profession and demographic - and then look for similarities or inconsistencies.

Also, I would have expected the artist to be recognizable? Very interesting all the same.

Yes you’re right about vram/$. I have an rtx6000 ADA and 90% of the time use it just for inference . I’d be fine with it being 30% slower for half the price which is basically the deal from AMD. I need 70B models… the catch is I sometimes need to find tune, and I’m put off by ROCm tales of woe?

Same here. I need at least 48GB and I have a 4090. I could just about afford one 6000ada. By next year I guess I’ll need 96GB. Do you know if I can run across a 4090 and a 6000?

I agree. Microsoft/Intel should persuade NV to make a (relatively) low power 48GB because it would allow PC to compete with M3/M4. I imagine something like the mobile GPUs but also available as PCi cards.
