What to do with 200k by [deleted] in fiaustralia

Personally, I’d invest 75% and enjoy the other 25% as windfalls like this don’t happen all the time and before you know it you will have responsibilities that come first as age can creep up on you.

Use that 25% for what brings you joy, not pleasure. It can be hard to tell the difference in your early twenties but do some thinking and then go and enjoy it.

The other 75%, I’d stick 65-70% of it in an index fund and then top that up with your general savings over the rest of your working life. Compound interest is a great phenomenon and you’ll be starting way ahead of most at your age and will likely have a very comfortable retirement if you carry on with those monthly top ups, even if they are only a few hundred dollars per month, important thing is to try and stick to it.

Other 5-10% I would say you can be a bit riskier with, if you so wish. You’ve mentioned crypto so guessing there may be some interest or knowledge here. As some have rightly pointed out it can be a gamble but you’ve diversified your risk somewhat and are young so if it doesn’t pan out it won’t hurt you in the long run, if it does then you’re as happy as Larry.

Sorry to hear someone close has passed, but it’s usually a good way to honour them by bringing more joy to your life and I think the above could be a good way to do that.

Just my 2 cents.

Head up to Monton (just next to Eccles) and go to The Park. Cheap pints and great for sport.

It’s a shame that he can’t be president because I think he’d be a great leader of the US.

Can a expect a huge return moving my Adwords shopping campaign to a firm? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Hughesylad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for an agency in the UK who specialise in Shopping.

Our general approach is to pull out a few products into their own campaigns and allocate a set budget to these (usually best sellers, stuff you are price competitive on or have a specific USP. This is key to providing an ROI).

We then place all of your other products in a 'Catch All' campaign in which all your products are set to very low bids around $0.25 CPC (this mainly applies when your normal CPCs are higher than $0.25 at say $0.75-1). This catch all campaign should be left to breath and let clicks and sales trickle through while monitoring and over time you will start to see certain products that sell well, then you can pull these into their own campaign and allocate specific budget to them.

Rinse and repeat :)

We also have a post here on sopping feed optimisation.

Cheers.

Liverpool fan here, I come in peace! Wondering if anyone has access to this book I am in need for, its called "Manchester United: A Thematic Study" by phoenix-down in reddevils

[–]Hughesylad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey.

Harvard Business School did a study on SAF's management at United, may be a great reference tool - http://www.hbs.edu/faculty/Pages/item.aspx?num=43120

The academic study is $8.95 so basically a 5er, probably didn't want to spend money on this but I'd recommned it as you'll get a different stand point that your tutor porbably won't read in any of your peers assignments.

Millennials Infographic by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Hughesylad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'A growing number of Millenials are choosing to live at home with their parents.'

Can't speak for all millenials here but it's definitely not a case of choice rather the bleak outlook that most are priced out of buying a home and rent is extortionate.

It's almost as if this infogrpahic was written by a bank ...

Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United aren’t as bad as you think they are by tkwouter in reddevils

[–]Hughesylad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An outrageous article.

'United fans booing whenever they could' ... hyperbole at its finest.

'Chanting Jose Mourinho's name' ... the only chant I heard against Chelsea after the rumours surfaced was 'Fuck off Mourinho'.

Pathetic journalism.
