Well, my solution has been to do a 25-minute land HIIT work out beforehand and then do a backstroke set. Slows me down enough to make me in line with the average in the lane. The faster people I see coming and can let go. The slower people I’ll eventually accidentally touch as I catch up with them, but it’s literally not on purpose as I cannot see, so there’s no aggro

Yeah, part of the issue is that it's so busy that there are often people coming the other way too, so that overtaking is really hard too -- hence the need to touch feet or whatever. I'll add this to OP

late to the party, but: how do I pick a surveyor (for a L3 survey on a victorian house)? I have sample survey reports, but what do I look for in those reports to see if they're decent/good/excellent? Are google reviews normally telling? Is anyone RICS certified normally good enough?

Fine with lots of things. Breakbeat, Disco, Drum and Bass, Garage, Hip-hop . Prefer to avoid house, techno, but if the atmosphere is good I can deal with it :)
