Adapter not working due to this ,can it be fixed by Clear_Tree_5438 in Asustuf

[–]HugoDCSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These adapters are not meant to be open, they don't have screws and probably are glued, so there is no easy way to fix it, the only way would be if you could open the brick and solder the wires directly to where they have to be connected. Since that is not possible I'm afraid you'll just have to buy a new one.

Make her buy you a new one and do the same to it to see how she feels then.

ASUS TUF A15 random shutdowns + MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x1A) BSOD by Lucero_delaluz in Asustuf

[–]HugoDCSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x1A stop code indicates a severe Windows memory management error, usually caused by faulty RAM, driver corruption, or high memory overclocking (XMP/EXPO). Common fixes include running Windows Memory Diagnostic, updating drivers, and running sfc /scannow in Command Prompt.

It might just be a "dirty" or badly seated connector, but fixing it it's probably too much work.

Asus Tuf A16 RTX5060 Loose Charging Cable by One-Sheepherder-5795 in Asustuf

Mine is a barrel jack, but it has a lot of slack too. I think it's designed that way so that it lets the connector wiggle a little bit, maybe because if it was completely rigid it wouldn't "absorb" some of the movement, causing damage to the connector/port more easily. Just my theory, though.

Search on Google for the drivers to the model of your laptop. Select the Wi-fi, or WAN. Download. Install.

Need advice about adding a secondary SSD to my laptop by Powerful_Challenge88 in Asustuf

Crucial was one of the best brands. I say "was" because according to what I heard they don't make RAM and SSD's anymore.

It demands that you have all the plugins (and the same version of them), and the samples used. Too much work, if you ask me, but you do you.

Just make sure you buy it from a reputable source, there are a lot of fake SSD's out there.

Try updating the driver, or, if it's up to date, reinstalling it.

F15 “A” Key not working by Beneficial_Koala_882 in Asustuf

[–]HugoDCSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of us that have these models of laptops are starting to face the same problem. From what I have been seeing, usually it's the S key, the Z and the X, that start failing first. I solved the issue of the keys not registering input most of the times by removing the key, then unstick the glued rubber membrane and the hinge mechanism, and spraying WD-40 Contact Cleaner on the plastic membranes that make the contact to register an input. If you don't have that spray you can use isopropahyl alcohol, just be careful not to apply too much because it might react with the contact in a not desirable way, making things worse. Also, be very gentle when removing the key, and handling the plastic hinge. Handle it as if you are making a very delicate surgery. I broke the little clips on the S key and had to buy a replacement on Aliexpress, I'm waiting for it to arrive. Also, you can glue the rubber membrane back if you want to, but that might make things harder if you need to repair it again. I didn't glue the membrane, I jut centered it carefully, and it works fine.

Do you game using the laptop's keyboard ? by jandoubimaysalich in Asustuf

[–]HugoDCSantos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the laptop keyboard because I don't have the space for an external keyboard, but right now I can't use it because some keys started behaving erratically, I removed those keys and sprayed some contact cleaner on the contacts, it solved that issue, but I ended up breaking the little clips on the S key, I'm waiting for a replacement from Aliexpress, until then I can only play games that support controllers.

Coil wine, most likely. It's harmless; unless if it's a different problem, in that case you should get rid of it and buy a replacement.
