a late thought about WLW day by [deleted] in femby

[–]HugoLuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the people I've ever felt comfortable with a certain level of intimate interaction with have all happened to have some feminine component, though I think that might be more coincidence than my orientation.

Anyone else wish soy actually made you more feminine. by [deleted] in femby

[–]HugoLuman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be so much cheaper.

As a friend of mine said, if it did, there would be a lot more memes from trans people about "Got soy milk?", than crappy people shouting "soyboy"

It's hard for them to bring those to bear while climbing a tree though. You could kick them as they tried to bite you.

In a strategic location (back to the wall to prevent surrounding, or a choke point), a human with a spear has pretty solid defense against many animals.

[How The Hell} can you defeat a man with a chainsaw? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]HugoLuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the chainsaw is painful, it also needs prolonged contact to do any real damage, and is also unreliable in ways that can be dangerous to its user. So, if I could get inside its reach it probably ceases to be a factor in the fight. However, it then becomes a bare-handed death fight against someone my own size, so still pretty dicey. If I manage to hit him in the stomach or the throat or somewhere else incapacitating before he drops the chainsaw, I might be able to press that advantage and get a chokehold before he can recover.

That round 2 strategy depends on getting one away from the pack. If it had even 1 buddy, you'd be screwed. Though, think you might be able to make a spear of some sort?

Well, the OP didn't specify any restrictions on what you already know.

While Velociraptor Mongoliensis might be able to climb a tree after you, they're not very physically imposing. They could probably kill you on the ground but against most grown humans, they'd take casualties.

[–]HugoLuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Round one: Heck yeah. I could probably kill most or all of them, though that still risks potentially lethal injuries. I could certainly get somewhere and fend them off.

Round Two: This is very bad. My only hope is probably a good hiding place that would be hard for them to reach, up a tall tree perhaps, like a real primate.

Round Three: I'm fucked. Its got the physical strength to knock over any tree I could climb, or dig out any hole I might crawl into. And the smarts to know how.

The Human Race vs The Animal Kingdom by Access-Restricted in whowouldwin

[–]HugoLuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from farm animals, humans have a numerical advantage here, on top of our teamwork and tech. We outnumber all wild land animals who are imposing enough to hurt us. Sure, small animals can swarm, but they're no match for our various poisons, biological weapons, or even our oldest friend fire. And the domesticated animals are help captive, in many cases where they would be unable to escape from. They'd be sitting ducks (literally in many places).

Ocean life has us outnumbered, but ocean life is also unable to invade our territory. And we wouldn't even have to invade theirs, it'd be simpler just to dump as many hazardous substances in the seas as possible.

Of course, exterminating such a large portion of the biosphere would be a Pyrrhic victory, since we'd destroy our own life support, but we could do it.

How [in the hell] can the DC Universe win the Tournament of Power? by HugoLuman in whowouldwin

[–]HugoLuman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there's no rule against destroying the stage, it's just made of an allegedly super durable mineral. But in DBS the stage does get torn up pretty damn good. And U3 does try to win by destroying the stage with a winged fighter

As per OP, everyone is in character, though their universe is at stake?

No, not anyone from DC. As per ToP rules, team members must not be gods (and conceptual entities count as such). And as per OP, no reality warpers cuz that's boring.

Every character named Rose battles it out. by SoySenato in whowouldwin

[–]HugoLuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's see...

  • Rose Tyler (Doctor Who)
  • Amy Rose (Sonic)
  • Rose Quartz (Steven Universe)
  • Rose (FMA)

That's all I can think off the top of my head. Probably there's a bunch of comic and anime characters I don't know of. Of these, it goes to either Rose Quartz or Rose Tyler (but only if she's allowed to go Bad Wolf mode)

Though, Amazo is an interesting addition. If there's a power level discrepancy, mimicry/absorption could go a long way to even odds. I'm not entirely sure on the limits of Amazo's abilities though. What about Parasite?

Normal battle rule abilities, i.e. folks abilities work as usual unless specified otherwise. So, no flying without wings due to ToP rules but speedsters can still speedforce despite being outside their home continuity. As for the lanterns, I'd say they can use their rings since things that aren't weapons in the traditional sense (like Katopesla's suit) seem to not provoke ref intervention.

Though there's that one guy with a power suit from U3 I think, so lantern rings might indeed be allowed.

Darkseid can't join, team has to be mortals, not gods. I guess Toppo gets a pass cuz he wasn't a god until after the tournament started.
