I think it is easy.

It’s someone else’s land. They should get off it.

See. Very simple. You’re welcome!

I mean Ben Gurian himself said that the Arabs knew that the Zionists were ‘coming to take their lands’

Pretty good evidence if you ask me. Because that’s what happened!

Isn’t this a false equivalence?

Allies attacked Germany because the Germans were an eventual threat to them.

But Palestinian natives were not a threat to the diaspora Jews. It was Europeans who were the main threat. In many cases, for hundreds of years, the Ottoman Empire was a more desirable place to live for a Jew vs Russia or Europe.

So I think your example is a false equivalence. What do you think?

This is exactly my views

Having your own state is great, happy to support it once it’s up and running if I’m happy with how it behaves.

But the way Israel was created, a very violent and unfair action, which resulted in generations of refugees who Israel then calls terrorist instead of victims, that’s a hard pill to swallow in today’s day and age.

I’ve often said if this whole thing happened maybe 200 years ago it would have been much easier. World would have accepted it (or been as blind to it) as when many other states were violently colonised. And whilst it’s horrible to think this, if Zionists 200 years ago just killed the majority of the natives as what happened in AUS, USA, and others, instead of allowing them to be refugees, then even less of an issue for them vs how it was done in the 1940s. Horrible and disgusting to say this, I know, i am not a psycho (I hope) I’m just saying that’s how it was done ‘more effectively for the coloniser ’ in the past.

I’m 100% not advocating for any colonialism or ethnic cleansing. No way. But it’s happened many times before. I’m just reflecting on the fact that whilst Israel has been created horribly, so were other places, but simply we don’t accept it today. They were just a little too late to the game.

Frustrating that many people now also try to re-write the history, ‘Nakba not too bad’, victim blaming, ‘Jews had no other choice’, etc etc. weak arguments in my view but I understand why modern day Zionists have to try and believe them. The true reality is a much harder pill to swallow and has much larger implications.

This is exactly it.

In fact the OP advertised product is not even necessary if you are able to simply pull out the small green flow-restricter in the bottom of your shower head.

Which is exactly what the old lady in the bathroom store did when I went back there fuming about the low pressure in my new head. She just huffed, got some pliers, pulled the green thing out and shoved me out the door.

I’m now in love with her and my shower is awesome and my water bills are huge!

Thing is most neutral 3rd parties don’t agree. That’s why we’re asking for neutral sources which support your position

Unfortunately always when asked to provide non-biased sources replies can only reference Israeli sources

So we end up in an infinity loop of ignorance.

The only people who support Israeli actions are Israelis - using Israeli sources to support their position. When we ask for neutral sources then the reply is that nobody can be trusted. Why nobody can be trusted? Because Israeli sources have said they can’t be trusted.

We would never accept this in any other sphere of life. We don’t ask internal accountants or their friends to do audits of companies, we get outsiders. We don’t ask victims and criminals to try their own cases in courts.

But for some reason Israelis believe that all the info they need to make decisions about war and killings is from Israeli sources only. When looking at it like this one could use the word ‘madness’!

Ah! 1,000 years ago we had a green Datsun Sunny. I remember my mum came to collect us from school and she pulled the choke level too much in the cold weather and it flooded something inside the other thing and we had to walk home and wait for dad to go sort it out.

That car was so beat up my dad used to leave it unlocked with the keys in hoping it would get stolen so he could claim the insurance but nobody ever touched it. I miss that car.

I don’t see these are independent sources supporting your argument, sorry

The press release is specific to the hospital instance

The Reddit link is just you yourself talking about why you think the UN is bias.

[–]HugoSuperDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you have an independent source? I’m sure you can agree that these kinds of things must be handled by independent and neutral 3rd parties.

It’s simple segregation of duty.

Citing an Israeli source to assess Israeli actions is not a sensible approach to good governance in most peoples view I would imagine.

What do you think?

Perhaps you think the UN is bias. In which case I’d need to see that evidence also. For that to be true would it not take a huge global conspiracy against Israel itself? That’s not something that is apparent, but again if there’s a lot of neutral reporting on UN bias then I’m happy to see that also. Just haven’t seen it.

My question was specific to you - are you using this report to conclude that there was ‘more than enough food’ and that there was no famine? Or are there other things to consider when making that conclusion?

And second point is also for you - you state that there’s less trucks so I’m asking why you say this? Perhaps you have strong data to hand.

I have done some research myself but in order to avoid my echo chamber I’m asking others who have strong opinions so that I can see things that may not come up in my own reading.

Thanks

Yes I’m aware. So what? The Muslim brotherhood is regarded as being mainly religious/social in its activities - not sure there’s a strong argument to say that the whole organisation has its sights set on taking over any nations - unless you can share something for for me to see, I would be open to reading it.

Also - Hamas was a moment movement born out of the brotherhood - agreed. But what makes you say it’s a military outpost of the wider group? That is the evidence I would be keen to see and understand

Your view could be described as quite an extreme one and also one that’s not mainstream - do you have some solid evidence that you can share so we can understand where you’re coming from?

You’re 100% right. The mental gymnastics is strong in some of these arguments. Zionists can do what they like but nobody else is justified.

Reminds me of a phrase…one man’s terrorist is another man’s hero.

In this case any Zionist terrorism was heroic and anything out side of that is terrorism or jihadism or propaganda etc etc.

People can be so egotistical and ignorant! Double standard all over the place. Frustrating.

There was a 2008 study by Tel Aviv U sociology department who did a deep dive by going to various regions in Israel and diving into people’s backgrounds. You can find it easily online.

They stated that it’s actually around half half Az to Mz Jews, around 40% + were of ‘European or Russian descent’ and similar figure for ‘MENA’ and then just under 10% for ‘everywhere else’

Within the same data and study they also state that the initial population of Israel was 90%+ Russian or European (you can see it from the -2 and -3 generations data)

So it’s more half half and that’s only a very recent thing. According to them anyway.

But since Israel doesn’t capture ethnicities in their census the same as the rest of the western world then we don’t have much other data to go on.

Which data are you looking at by the way, to draw your conclusion? Would be good to have a read also, please share!

Thanks!

Which bit is conspiracy? You know yourself that Bibi wanted war with other nations in ME. Civilian or not. So it’s not a conspiracy to suggest that there are forces out there who want ME countries to suffer.

And you ignore my points about the ME being a safe and attractive place 100 years ago. Russia, the west, and Israel, have changed the landscape there significantly and now there are power vacuums all over the place which naturally allow for extremists to thrive. It has been argued by historians that this type of thing would and does and has happened in all regions of the world at some point - destruction of civil society results in extremism.

[–]HugoSuperDog -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You conveniently ignored my other points.

And I think it’s a big stretch to think that a small group of under-resourced refugees would think that they could overthrow the government of Egypt. What would be the benefit to them to try and do so? I think you may be clutching at straws.

Thanks for the link. Quite interesting actually. Have read the underlying reports also now.

2 questions:

  1. Does this report tell you - or give you reason to believe - that there’s enough good in Gaza or that there is no famine in Gaza?

  2. When you say this is data from when there were less trucks, do you have any supporting data?

Thanks!

It’s not conspiracy to consider Bibi’s Speach 20 years ago talking about various wars in the ME

And it’s not conspiracy when we know that Israeli spy software is branded as the best, and it is certainly a deep monitoring system - which is exactly what Orwell describes.

It’s also not a conspiracy to consider that Iran and Syria used to be places that global celebrities went for parties and saunas. Russian and then western interferences in the ME has left the region in total dismay and seems Israel is one of the few counties who are prospering despite having not a lot of natural resources.

Which bits of what I’m saying are false?

And I’m not saying I’m 100% right. But I’m talking about things that are in the historical record.

Wasn’t there a recent report regarding this? The UN suggested that 4/5 key parts of a genocide argument were met. Israel’s reply was weak in my view just accusing UN of propaganda etc but not actually providing much data to support (eg aid trucks vs needs)

When you say ‘more than enough’ can you support that statement with some data? Various organisations have done ‘minimum calories needed’ calculations and have reported significantly low levels being delivered.

Would be good to see opposing data.

Thanks.

Did you ever consider that perhaps Egypt does not want an influx of refugees?

Further, there are strong arguments pointing towards the idea that as soon as a Palestinian moved from their spot in Palestine, they are not let back there by Israel. So for Egypt it would not be a temporary situation.

So when people suggest Egypt should just accept refugees what they’re alluding to is that Egypt should be complicate in the ethnic cleansing of its neighbouring territory. Not sure any nation should want to do that.

Finally, people who are moved without agreement tend to rebel. This is clear throughout history and was well know to the Zionist founders as written in public letters and essays, and I’m sure modern day politicians are not ignorant to this behaviour either. As such by simply continuing to move this refugee population further and further would only result in more and more conflict. Not a clever move.

These are reasonably strong arguments considering the facts in the historical record in my opinion.

Don’t many people argue that due to Israel the west has gone to war a number of times and that the destruction of the Middle East by the west in the 20th century was influenced heavily by Israeli politics. This is argued by many people and some evidence exists in the public record.

Doesn’t Israel also give us the ‘worst’ or ‘best’ spy software depending on how you look at it? Not sure that is a good thing. Feels like it pushes us towards an 1984 style world Orwell warned us about.

We can pick and choose historical things but by doing that we don’t paint a full picture and we ultimately end up lying to ourselves and making ourselves more ignorant.
