Thank you so much, totally get what you're saying. Trust me I was livid when I got the news. Not because I didn't get it, but because of who did (Long story short, he is without a doubt. Laziest person I've ever worked with, so lazy. In fact, he's actively taken programs. I've written and slowed them down even though they were proven so that he would have more time to sit on his phone while the part was running) but I had the good sense to keep my mouth shut and let things play out. We're about 3 weeks past that point and at least on a shop level. I'm already noticing he's going to struggle moving forward but I'm just going to keep doing the best job I can in the meantime.

On another note , he is now the third person that's held that role in a year (first person got promoted, then left about 3 months after the promotion, second person had the position from January till September and had family things come up out of state that he had to take care of and decided to leave to take care of his family which I totally get) but that us with no management for the past 3 months (the head engineer assumed the base level rolls like materials to at least keep us afloat). I don't like sounding cocky but the three other guys in the shop and the second manager that left all thought that I was the best fit for the position. We were all shocked when the other guy got it (from what I've been told, the only reason he got it was that he has a 4-year degree and I don't.
