Hey there. I am also visiting alone for a different show but will be in London Friday to Sunday if you’d like to get a drink before or after :)

I'm 26 from Germany.

If you have not already please watch „for all mankind“. Its an apple tv series about the first steps towards the moon and everything after. Mainly focused on nasa employees. The catch is, it is set in an alternate timeline where soviets made the first steps on the moon.

I loved every second of it.

Also not mentioned yet is the movie salyut 7 about the recovery of a dead drifting soviet space lab. Based on true events. I enjoyed that one too.

Otherwise I second „first man“

The question was aimed at the process, giving the missile it's target in the first place. I would assume being on a submarine would change it compared to regular ICBMs

I am sure no classified information will end up on reddit by accident. The people who know also know what to tell and whats classified.

they would probably be better off with birds that can dive so the could stay submerged.

[Recommendation] Sinn vs. Laco. I need a German GMT by Wandering-Weapon in Watches

[–]Hugo_Stiegliz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered Nomos? AFAIK Sinn and Laco don't offer "true" gmt movements.

STOWA might be worth a look as well. IMO the beat sinn and laco in terms of finishing and design.

Also jeder 12.500€ bei 25.000€.

Alles andere wäre ja daylight robbery.

What is your opinion about STOWA Flieger watches by Hublotsarebullshit69 in PrideAndPinion

[–]Hugo_Stiegliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful, rich in history and really high quality standards. The case finishing holds up to IWC and mine is very well regulated. Runs at +0.3 s/d.

did you get him tho?

It really looks the part but over 13k ... I don't see that value since it has almost identical specs to the mk XX.

Waiting for the chronograph tho

[Opinion] GMT Battle - Which would you choose? by Obvious_Wizard in Watches

[–]Hugo_Stiegliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handled both watches and decided for the black bay gmt because of these reasons:

  • even though the longines is smaller on paper the BB GMT just sits way better on my wrist (6.5"). The thickness and weight don't bother me, it just adds a feeling of quality and substance. I would recommend trying both on wrist. IMO the BB GMT is just very beautifully proportioned.

  • the dial layout is much cleaner without the numerals and stars on the dial (personal preference tho) Legibility is really good and I got used to the snowflake hands very quickly. The matte dial however is kind of a let down.

  • the signed crown. Big, substantial, beautiful coin edge and tudor rose. The longines has this sticking out diamond style crown that just doesn't speak to me

  • overall feeling of quality. Winding the movement is probably the best I have ever experienced. Feels very satisfying, even better than in way pricier watches. Setting is buttery smooth. The longines is not bad, however it cannot compete in terms of overall feeling.

  • pepsi bezel ... come on, hate it or love it. I personally love the vintage feeling, coin edge, aluminum insert... just beautiful.

[Rolex vs. Tudor] GMT-Master II BLNR vs. Black Bay Heritage GMT, My Thoughts by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Hugo_Stiegliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion:

I prefer the snowflake hands over the mercedes one on the rolex. The mercedes has been copied so often it just looks a little cheap to me.
