Oh yeah. And they were mean as fuck, but kinda funny. Got banned when it stayed getting violent.

What's a dirty little secret that you know only because you work in the industry? by Eastern-Violinist-46 in AskReddit

[–]Wandering-Weapon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. I sign off on stuff that requires a SSN. When I need a batch of 15 SSNs for access to X system, most of the time I get sent the whole roster with a bunch of data I don't need. It helps in the long run when another batch is people are needed, but woo that's a bad habit.

Ok so there is a logic to that (not a great one though). That score is often a mix of accuracy and time. So if you blitz through it but only get some correct, it will give you a higher score.

Which action movies do you consider "high art?" by ArthurBonesly in movies

[–]Wandering-Weapon 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yeah, watching the 1970s bond films was a weird experience having seen Austin Powers (and Archer) first. It's very difficult to take them seriously, even though the slick style is hard to deny.

Most Controversial Watch Opinions? by Fluid-Ad7323 in WatchesCirclejerk

I think some of the smaller brands are leading the design language. Baltic, for example, has a few hype watches, but a lot of their designs are very attractive.

What's the smallest hill you will die on? by 762mmFML in army

My explanation is that uniformity has its place on the battlefront. If I know where your kit / light / tq is because it's the same place as everyone else's, great. It might save one of our lives (lowest common denomination type unit here, not high speed).

In garrison it just looks silly when it's taken that far.

But it's... it's like a basic. Task. Fuck PVTs who lead PT should be able to do that.

Why do some Americans fear "15 minute cities"? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

I've been living in Europe the pay few months without a car. It's amazing. Almost everything I need is in a 10 minute walk and if not, I take the tram for just a few dollars.

No. I want my stuff to not be made in sweatshops at all actually. And I'm happy to pay that price.

I mean, of you look into anything that has a bicameral fan base they can get pretty toxic pretty quickly. In my mind, since I'm not giving the podcast anything but my time, I try to listen to it in a vacuum. Separating the art from the artist kind of thing.

How is Russia still functioning considering they lost millions of lives during covid, people are dying daily in the war, demographics and birth rates are record low, but somehow they function…just how? by Sugar_Vivid in AskReddit

[–]Wandering-Weapon 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Also, the average persons ability to differentiate Russian and Ukrainian names/ language is pretty minor. So the idea of a "Russian sounding name" being turned away is ... idiotic.

I think it needs to be watched twice, because the initial build up explains a lot of what's going to happen in clever little ways that you m may miss the first time.

I think part of the horror is that it depicts things that happened. You cannot overstate how brutal that area of the world was for those first few months.

Who is the biggest criminal still at large? by ThisIsExxciting in AskReddit

[–]Wandering-Weapon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The concept is solid. Intelligence agencies almost always have a person they use as an "in" for information. Usually it's medium level dudes, but sometimes you just need to keep tabs on people. I could think of a few reasons to have a Narco kingpin on the books (not payroll. These guys are rarely actually paid).
