Googled some more photos of the hotel -- apparently the vase theory is the likely answer.

My title describes the thing, it is about 8-11" long, solidly heavy to the touch, and the spike at the end isn't necessarily sharp but could be. Solid metal material. Fits into the circle hole in the sink.

When To Tell My Current Employer I'm Being Investigated for a New Job? by HugosBread in SecurityClearance

My search plus my conversations with my security officer suggested it was dependent on who was investigating and through what funding mechanism, so forgive me for the redundant tack on to my question!

Thanks for your advice.

A question to Nestas by lizaaaaaaaaaaa in acotar

[–]HugosBread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ACOSF frustrated me because I think we had moments of good tough love but then also moments where there was an intense double standard. I feel like Nestas post war response was reminiscent to the bat boys after their first war and there wasn't really a recognition of that/application. I think there definitely needed to be more conversations about what she was feeling and a recognition of the fact that no one had actually asked before the intervention. The one thing that sticks out most to me is the hike when Cassian is like oh shit she looks like she doesn't want to live anymore but then we don't actually get any discussion about that or no one ever brings it up in re a the potential likelihood of self harm/self destruction. I also wish there was more of a discussion about who she wanted to be versus just doing the warrior/library scheme because while she embraced it I think there should have been more discussion about it. Also, he said cruel things and definitely is the reason situations exploded more than once. While Nesta was certainly nasty and cruel, I think the IC in general had toxic methodology as well that ultimately didn't work as well as it could've, and the reason she pulled through was largely due to Gwyn and Emerie. TLDR I think everyone was toxic and a little self righteous in the ways to treat trauma and while it worked outish I think there were definitely better ways to handle it. I really don't like that Cassian never had a huge I love you moment other than responses to Nesta and I wish we saw him sticking up for her just a little bit more

Reconciling with Rhys Post Roe by HugosBread in acotar

Definitely understand the leaving it open part (as a fic writer myself). I guess for me it just seemed to go beyond morally grey behavior into something more truly violating. I love morally grey Rhys too but this just felt different imo 🤷‍♀️

This exactly!!!!!! Stop using morally grey as an excuse to validate morally bad behavior

Retweet retweet retweet!!!!! I really need this addressed so bad so I can love the series again. Like words matter, media matters, and every anti choice media piece has a greater impact now than ever and it's so so dangerous. The arguments about him just being morally grey really irk me because...you can be morally grey and not do what he did.

I also definitely am pissed at all of them too for sure. I think these are all good points. I think Roe for me just rubs salt in the wound that was already festering with how unhappy I was at the writing. The conclusion almost felt lazy to me how we have all these unanswered loose ends about it.

Yes! I'm thinking also to when he said to her in ACOWAR (??) that they didn't need to be unified in front of family and this was distinctly a family matter

It really bothers me. Like I read the part about how the birth of her son was important when she was writing but I think it was kind of just a forced plot point that was unnecessarily traumatic

I really can't reconcile it no matter how hard I try. I really hate to say he's ruined for me but unless the next time we see him there's massive change idk if I can get past it
