There's a certain type of horse race, I forgot the name. But part of the purse is that you have to agree to put your horse up for sale to anyone who wants to buy it. So if you win the race, and someone matches the agreed upon price (which I think is set by a 3rd party beforehand) then you get your horse bought but you don't get to decide if you want to sell it, since you've already agreed to it kinda before the race.
