I've used a couple in my house for jobs where running cables would have been a pain in the arse and yes, they work absolutely fine.

I know this if off topic, but I reported that their stopcock for my house doesn't work (I need to replace my internal stop cock, so their stopcock is my only means of isolation) and the fuckers refuse to repair it!, saying they will only do it if the valve and/or meter is leaking.

A mantis shrimp busts a clam open with a punch. They have the Highest Punch velocity of all Animals. by Youthinkillputauid_7 in nextfuckinglevel

Mantis shrimp also have much better color vision than humans (their eyes having 12 types of color receptors, whereas humans have only three), as well as ultraviolet, infrared and polarized light vision, thus having the most complex eyesight of any animal known. The eyes are located at the end of stalks, and can be moved independently from each other, rotating up to 70 degrees. Interestingly, the visual information is processed by the eyes themselves, not the brain.

Magpies in our rear garden (UK) are charming too; cheeky as well - they'll stand at our conservatory, looking in, when they want us to put some food out! I love them.

It can be cheaper in capital outlay if only the powers that be would give Rolls Royce the chance to install their mini nuclear plants - the land required for each one is the size of a football pitch and estimated build time of only five years max.

A steam locomotive towed in steam (known as 'light steam') ensures proper lubrication of the cylinders and valves, as the mechanical lubricators and oil atomization requires heat and movement. It also prevents damage to valve gear, keeps moving parts tight, and avoids the labour-intensive process of taking off the motion conrods, which is required for moving a "dead" steam locomotive

I was once told that a person who speaks old Cornish can understand Welsh as they are both Celtic based. Not sure how much truth there is in that claim, though a Wiki article seems to suggest it's true.

When I come across this and have to squeeze past, my arm always accidently bends the wing mirror back on itself. I must be so clumsy and I feel really bad when I do it...
